Hi ! i just upgrade my 10.25 unit (seller topcar 2gb with 32gb) with v. 36 posted here and i have white screen without picture.
I just copy the 3562.bin and update into my sd card and system starts upgrade normally with all check field control ok.
After finish now i hear original radio but with backlight on without images or icon
On the Carlife video towards the end Rock (I think that's what he says his name is) mentions that you should only do the upgrade if you are experiencing issues with your unit.
So it seems if everything is working as it should perhaps it'd be vise to forgo the update.

I was hoping to fix random crash bugs where apps would crash or freeze along with real iPod support which never worked but was mentioned on the site and there is a menu item for it. I also had a relatively rare problem of the unit spontaneously rebooting during navigation. The crashing apps problem is gone, haven't had a reboot, but am still seen the occasional "hang" long enough to being up the WAIT or QUIT modal window. I noticed that my BT performance is a bit better with faster connection time and faster response with BT music controls. So that is an improvement, but it came at the cost of Autobox performance. I always had occasional issues with Autobox but now Carplay isn't working well at all if I am multi-tasking, eg Waze+Apple Music, even if the songs are already downloaded to the phone. Unfortunately the implementation of Android Auto at this aspect ratio sucks *** so I can't use my S8.
But I agree, if you are not having issues with V2, don't upgrade. There are no feature updates and if there are security updates, they aren't worth the risk of making the setup even more unstable or worse, bricking the unit.
Excited to share this with everyone. Saw this in another thread and came across this unit. Unit purchased from Chris The Swede, although other sites and vendors do sell this unit, shoutout to Chris because he offered tons of info and support. Glad I purchased from him. He also has YouTube videos on this unit.
I'm still trying to work out a few things like getting mirrorlink and google maps to work properly but so far I'm really satisfied with the result.
As far as I'm concerned, this particular unit works on ntg 4.5 4.7 and 5. Aux cable I routed behind the ac control unit, then under ash tray and center scrolling knob, and into the aux jack in center compartment. Audio is automatically supposed to switch over from own radio to anything being played in android unit but I haven't gotten that auto switch to work yet. Usb cable I have routed into glove compartment.

Video in motion/youtube/usb drive. Movies in my usb drive utilize the entire screen, YouTube videos will not.
The best part is that this unit retains oem functionalities! This is primarily the only reason why i purchsed this unit. When using oem mode, the oem doesn't go full screen, the extra space on the right is filled with a stock dummy image. It'd be nice if we could get that right side functional.

I bought the same head unit a few months. I drive a W204 C180. Since I got the unit installed the car is having electrical issues:
- Started with bulbs front and back started going off (had to replace them)
- Later the ignition issues started the car wouldn't start (had replace the key module)
- I replaced the battery a month ago and I am told the battery is drained (could be an electrical leakage)
It all started when I got the head unit installed. Would be very grateful if you can advise if its the head unit that is causing the problem or could it be something else
Fellow member is installing this unit and running into an issue where the regular comand gets full sound but switching ti BT or carplay, only places in front right side only. Anyone have any thoughts?

I just did an install on my 2010 E350. The stock COMAND screen is not coming up. I don't know why. I just emailed Chris about this, hopefully he answers back. Another thing I noticed is the fiber optics needed to be detached from the unit and be plugged into the radio unit and not through provided the A/B connector. LemonSqueezy did you notice this during your install?

It's impossible to use the bloody map even though it is by far the best navigation I could find.

I was going to say the same. Don't think you can remove it and most people use Waze which is also a Google product, so shares the back end, but adds crows sourcing as well

No, it is a byproduct of Android's horrid handling of scaling. It renders based only on the width resolution rather than both width and height. It affects not only maps, but all virtually apps, Waze, Play Music, Sirius, etc. Carplay renders correctly, but I have issues with my dongle since upgrading to V35 and V36. It actually would have been a better platform if the screen were narrower.
the reason your having scaling issues is because you are using Android Auto, which makes everything giant because it think you're using a 5 to 7" smartphone and not a headunit. Try installing google maps on the device itself and the scalling should be normal.
Also, like others have said, try Waze. It's much lighter weight and faster than Google Maps, plus a whole lot less creepy and spy-y.
I downloaded Waze to my smartphone but it doesn't work, it says no network connection even though I am clearly connected. Strange.
I will download it to the screen and see if it works there.
I also have Google Maps installed on the Android screen and as you can see on the picture I took just now the rendering is the same as through Android Auto, bad.
Actually I am not even sure if Waze would work here in Japan, nevertheless I will give it a try.

The seller got it from AliExpress..he saying they left him hanging dry ..they sent him the wrong unit for a EU vehicle and didn't want to bother exchanging the piece ..so now the car is sold and he stuck with it.... Maybe Chris the Swede?
seems to be the V2 due to 2/32gb ram and storage, but the UI in the picture indicated V1 because V2 no longer shows HVAC temperatures on the home screen

so u think it mite b a v1 then? Or a earlier unit ? This is the system that seller ordered And he's selling..if it's a earlier system I'll probably pass on it as they seem very buggy and don't want to deal with it
