i had that and under warranty they replaced the aux battery that was in the trunk. It means your start / stop will not work, and the parking brake i think .

OP, what year car do you have? I think prior to 2013 (or whever they added ECO stop/start) it was just a small battery in dash for brake hold feature and powering electronic shifter if car won't start. When they added ECO stop/start they moved it to the trunk and it powers car when engines nods off.

Should be covered under factory warranty if still active.

Auxiliary battery malfunction

I have a 2016 E-350, so it is likely this battery is in the trunk. It is still under manufacture warranty.

Yup, it's the one in the trunk. Good thing you're still under warranty as that aux battery is pricey.

Last time my dash said replace auxiliary battery and this time it is saying auxiliary battery malfunction. Do you think it is just replacing it again? Last replaced in 2014. I have a 2010 E350 so I don't have eco feature just brake hold. Some are saying it is the voltage regulator. Thanks!
