Hi everyone I hope you all are having a great time. this is my first question/post on this site
I own a W212 E350 CGI 2011 Avangrade it has 63,000 miles on it. its a decent clean car. its my daily driver and I drive it around 30-40 miles everyday to work.
I kinda got bored of this car and I wanna get a newer/modern Mercedes.
I found two which I really like.
first one, is a white 2016 W212 E400 4-Matic with almost all the options such as adaptive headlights, panoramic sunroof, radar, Harman Kardon sound system etc.. it has 26,000 miles on it
Second one, is a Black 2017 W205 Coupe C300 it has the AMG package. multimedia upgrade, Panoramic sunroof, Burmester sound system, adaptive Headlights etc.. it has 9,000 miles on it.
the prices are very similar so its not a huge deal for me.
Im really stuck in between these two. I love both of them. but I need some professional advice about the reliability because I need one as my daily driver.
Im 24 years old Im single and I dont have kids. so a 2 door car wont be a problem for me.
My totally biased opinion is to get the E400. Much faster engine, more luxurious ride than a C-Class, 4-Matic is great for inclement weather and twisty roads, yeah.
If you keep up with maintenance on either car, they should be reliable. I'm not sure if one is significantly more reliable than the other.
Isn't price a factor here?
I was never able to fit comfortable into C class, although did not drive latest models. Did they make C bigger in last years?
The newer W212 will be similar to your current, just with way more power compared to your CGI. If that lower mileage C Coupe has the LED Lights and the Sport pkg turbine wheels, I'd take that any day, just can't fit in one (6'5). The 2016 E is still a W212 and doesn't have a lot of the newer tech and body styling. The 205 is a complete body refresh and would be a newer and more modern MB. I wish you many miles of trouble-free driving on whichever one you end up deciding on!
Neither, the answer is always Miata. That's what the people at Jalopnik always said. Something really different from your current car.
I actually quite like Miatas. But, obviously, for significantly different reasons.

Isn't the 2016 E a different body style than the earlier W212? Or is just the face different? (Also, I prefer the W212 look to the W222... but everyone has a preference.)

well, I drove the none coupe. and I couldnt find that Mercedes DNA in the W205 C300 4dr. or maybe it’s because I drive a W212 E350. which is a heavier car and it has a larger engine.

your right. but the E400 has a bigger engine. V6 Bi-Turbo.
and yes the C coupe does have the LED lights. AMG package and turbine wheels. same as the picture

the 2016 E class. is the W212 face-lift. the newer one is called W213
I guess the C has flattened steering wheel, so you can get in without bending your knees backward?
Tell me I am biased.
But don't take our opinions. Drive both and buy the one that you like better.
Both cars are MB.
Color choice? I bought black W212 when I was in hurry. Later on figure it too much hassle for Las Vegas sun and bought white one. I'll be losing some money on the deal, so make your color selection carefully.

Doh. Thanks!
The cockpit of the C *is* pretty damn nice though. I think I like the rear better, and with how I drive that's usually what people see. But larger engine plus 4Matic...
The E doesn't have the Distronic Plus, but the C got it. If you're driving 40 miles each day, Mercedes will spoil you with the safety Driver assistance package (assistance only, not a replacement).
I like the thigh support of the C, but will it eliminate the small comfort boxes in front of the seats the E has?
Take both of them for a mixed test drive. City roads and interstate. See how responsive both of them are.

If I was 24 years old I would go for the C class coupe. Much cooler car. You have the rest of your life to drive an old man's car.

Fair point. However, usually when you have a nice car you want to drive your friends around in it. Having said that, a coupe is reason to make a girl climb in the back and... who doesn't enjoy watching that?
Also, I missed that he was 24. Nice job being able to land one of these at 24 years old. 15 years ago me is envious.
