what size wheels/tires for your e350 (here's mine)
Hi guys....
What sizes are you guys using on yours?
I have a set of ruff r3’s on now.
They look SO damn small. Lol especially in the back.
I’ve got 20x8.5 on front with 35 mm offset. Tires are 245 30 20. Rear is 20x10 w45 mm offset. Tires are 275 30 20.
Maybe it’s the wheel design?
Thats the only thing I can think of...
The spokes don’t extend out to the end of the wheel so maybe it makes it seem smaller?
open to switching them... I just need to find the right wheel/tire setup.
Ive seen a badass e63 with 21” wheels on instagram.... but its way to lowered as well to use daily.
And not many companies make that size.
I spoke with velos designwerks .... they suggested same size wheels I have now which leads me to think its the wheel design thats making it looks smaller.
thoughts?

I think it is the design as you pointed out. I have the E63 wheels on my E550. These are 19" wheels with a similar design to yours, but look bigger because of the spokes extending to the perimeter.

Yeah. That’s the only thing I can think of. Some guy on IG has a BADASS e63. But he’s got 21” wheels. I don’t understand the stretched tires tho (that’s what he told me)
Trying to attach the photos of his but it’s not letting me

Without a doubt, same boat as me. Had an E of the same year and it was 040 black. Spectacular when it's clean for the 17 seconds after washing it. Then I decided I need gloss black wheels too

haha. Man. I feel your pain. I live in a condo. Across from the beach. It’s covered and I swear a day after getting it washed there’s a layer of dust over the car.
White or grey is my next color. Never doing black again. Lol.
But now I need to find the right wheels.
Am going to lower it s bit as well for the look. But not sure on how to do it best while keeping the ride quality.
Not even sure thats possible.

I just got rid of a black car for my silver e350 and it feels great to have it be dirty but still look clean!
I also agree that it's got to be the design of the wheels that make them look smaller...

I like Black Mercedes only if it's not mine. My previous Mercedes E350 was black. It was a dust magnet. I promised myself never again!

I think 19" looks perfect on the car, but I still have stock 18's because I'm afraid of sacrificing ride quality. Unfortunately there's not really a way to try before you buy, and also I just can't make a decision as to what would look good, again no way to mount them on the car and really see before you spend $2K or so.
I don't know why everyone wants 20+ wheels with rubber bands for tires. I had +2" 19s with 30 profile tires on my last CLK430, it rode rough, bent wheels, and replaced tires about once a year because those rubber band tires don't have much tread depth on them. It did look pretty nice, but I'm past the form over function stage.

You have a couple of things working against you. I think lowering the car will help make them look bigger. Design of the wheel. Something with less spokes. And the biggest problem... black wheels. Black makes everything look smaller. Black makes me look I have less of a gut. 😁.
look at the car below. Same wheels. Look tiny when they were black.

I'm starting to think that everyone should own a car with 20" wheels... for about a week or two.
Some Hot Wheels car obsessions just don't make any practical sense.

WHY is it a big deal if someone else has 20 inch wheels on their car? LOL! Some people take stuff way to personally........also, did you complainers know you can get 20 inch wheels with side walls that are not low profile?

Yes, I know that one can buy 20-24" wheels on other vehicles that do not use low-profile tires. But who wants to drive a Jeep Cherokee?

My attempt at levity was based on personal experience, and reading the countless threads here about owners fed-up with broken rims, which is directly proportional to wheel diameter. I don't need to throw rocks when others express their own "d-oh" moments of clarity.

I hit a pothole this morning on the way to work pretty hard going about 25-30mph. It was on a road that I was not as familiar with. My stock wheels are 17 inch (luxury trim) and I was still sweating it until I had a chance to check the tires afterwards. No damage thankfully and pressure is holding.
I do envy those cars with 19 and 20 inch wheels with low profile sidewall - they do look good. But since I can't see my own wheels while I'm driving I don't give them much thought. Heck I remember how cool I thought I was when I got a car with alloy wheels that were 15 inch. It was a huge step up from the 14 inch steel wheels with hubcaps on my first car. Although those tires would be a lot cheaper to replace now.
