“Updating Channels” at every startup
I don’t necessarily drive my E350 daily, but lately just about every day that I do drive my E350, when starting out in the morning, my display says Updating Channels. Takes a minute or two. This is a recent thing that previously rarely occurred. Anyone else experiencing this?

Sirus XM thing +1. When I had the subscription it use to do that sometimes while driving to work. I haven't seen it for about a year since my subscription laps. They were offering $60 a year deal, but refuse to offer any deal on live traffic in yearly subscription. It's their loss of additional revenue as I now use Spotify.
While we are SiriusXM, they are offering free 3 month trials.

Just finished another 3 month trial from my dealer as a thank you for recent service, I guess. I'm just not into the whole SiriusXM service and none of my cars have continued with it. Maybe if I spent more time driving around I would find it interesting.

I have the 2010 model car. I have had only one incidence when I had to update the system. This was not about the radio channels, it was because I lost the traffic information. I called them and they sent the reset signal and all has been working fine since. No channel or other updates and this was about two years ago.
I have also been paying the full price for both radio and traffic service for the seven years I have owned this car. I don’t know if that makes the difference but the only time I had trouble was when I lost the traffic info as mentioned above.

This seems to happen in "spurts" for me. It will go a month or more without updating channels, and then it seems like it will do it every other day for a week.

To reset the "Updating Channels" message press the "ON" button of the COMAND unit for 10 seconds or so this should perform a soft reset of COMAND. May return, simply reset again.
