Noise from engine after car rear ended me???
Hi, hoping someone can help. A car hit me at traffic lights at about 20kph....the only cosmetic damage done was to the rear bumper. However, there is now a clunking / metal rubbing noise from the drivers side of the front of the car when the car is on a bad road surface. On a good surface thrrr is no noise. I’ve taken it to a mechanic but he is not sure what it is? Any ideas men, it’s an E300, 2013. Thank you 👍🏻

You need to get under the car and look at both front and rear suspension, otherwise, everything is just a guess.
I'm doubtful that a 20 kmh (13 mph) hit would be limited to bumper cover damage.

Some cars have break away engine mounts. I do not know if MB cars have that but my sons BMW got hit from behind and the motor mounts cracked off to prevent engine damage. It might be that.

Get it up on a lift and look for suspension, mount, or exhaust issues. Could be the exhaust was jolted and slightly bent, now rubbing on something. Hopefully wherever you live has insurance requirements, they should be paying to fix your car via liability insurance.
