Broken centre armrest dampener
Here's a short video of it:
Well I found out that the lids are removed by just pulling the metal bar behind the rear vents, the ones that the springs goes around.
I also found out that the dampener seems to be a white plastic cylinder with a notch on, inside the lid. The metal bar has a part with grooves that hooks up with the plastic cylinder. Unfortunately I could not get the top 'leather' and bottom on the lids apart, they seems to be glued together and I did not want to pry too hard. I could not figure out exactly how it works of what's broken from what I could see by prying the edges apart, but I would guess there are some kind of foam that the notch travels through to slow down the movement.
So that's where I'm at currently. Does anyone know if it's possible to separate the halves of the lids and not breaking them?
I was thinking of buying a used pair of lids to replace them, but seeing this problem isn't as unusual as I thought it was, it might break again making replacing them pointless.
But I would love to fix them, the way they spring up now feels kinda "cheap" and not as classy as the rest of the car feels.

One way to solve this as a cheap method is to use plastic putty to mould a corner hard enough to stick with the corner of the broken lid's latch that allows the latch to clip.
i had adjusted them a few time... but still after time one opens quick and another very slow or dont open.
i wish i took pics.

Hmm actually seems like a good idea! Thinking about it, maybe wrapping the metal bar with some teflon tape as well might fix it.
