There are several threads on this site dealing with the same problem. Have you read those? How about your owners manual? Anything there?

2013 E550 sedan
Not sure if it could be the same as our 2013, but twice the gas pedal had failures that did the same on ours (and a lot more). Car would basically go into limp if you had hammered the throttle (kick down) and if you pull over and cycle the key all would be fine. First time MB replaced a contact and a pin in the throttle assembly and second time they replaced the whole assembly. Don't drive the car enough (I'm the one with the heavy right foot), to say for sure that it is fixed for good...

Perhaps the Presafe system has been turned off and just needs to be turned on. Hard to tell from here.
This is info from my 2016 model:
To activate/deactivate: activate or deactivate PRE-SAFE® Brake in the on-board computer (Y page 192).
If the PRE-SAFE® Brake is not activated, the æ symbol appears in the multifunction display.
And this from page 192:
PRE‑SAFE® Brake is only available for vehicles
with the Driving Assistance package.
X Press the=or;button on the steering
wheel to select the DriveAssist menu.
X Press the9or:button to select PRESAFE Brake.
X Pressato confirm.
The current selection appears.
X To activate/deactivate: press theabutton again.
When PRE-SAFE® Brake is deactivated, the
assistance graphic shows the æ symbol in
the multifunction display.
Note that 'ae' is really a symbol that appears on your display that does not copy when pasted in this forum.

I just had this warning light come on. it said "Pre-Safe Functions Currently Limited." It was on for 10 mins and went away. The dealer said the sensors were dirty. But where exactly are the sensors? I don't see anything on my bumper......

Two sensors on the inside of the rear bumper as well, one in each corner. The plugs or wiring harness off it could be corroded, or the sensor themselves. Had both my rear sensors changed by MB at no cost even after my warranty was up, apparently it's quite a common issue.
