Is anybody running an aftermarket grille on their w212

I invite all forum members to post pictures of their car if the are running after market or modified grilles or rear spoilers on their cars. The car pictured on the left is not my car, however, I did buy that grille and installed on my car, pictured on the right. However, when I installed it on my car, it looks too "see through", meaning I can see all the radiators behind the grille. Because of the way it was photographed in the eBay add, I could not determine that until I actually installed it.
Having said that, I'm looking for inspiration from other forums members to see what other aftermarket grilles might look good on these cars. If you prefer the stock grille on these cars (sounds like many of you do), are there any mods that can be done to make the look more sporty. Thanks,

Can you please post more pictures of your car, esp. the front?
I have never seen this grille on a W212 before... Very interesting!
Thank you!

I knew I've seen this grille before... on the W211 imitator/pretender..

2008 Kia Cadenza Amanti (corrected)

BTW, the picture in the OP is exactly the same picture featured in the ebay link in Post #3...

Very close. The vertical stripes sit atop the horizontal ones on the OP's car.

But, isn't that the Kia Amanti? I always preferred that design over the W211's... though for the life of me I couldn't tell you why.

You're right, it's an Amanti (now corrected in my post).

I do wish OP posted a picture of his actual car rather than the ebay pic. It's slightly misleading to suggest that others post pics of their actual car grilles when he hasn't posted his. His looks different after he rattle-canned it black overall.

Thats what he is saying in that third post. The photo is a stock image and not his car. Correct?

I can't quite get a grasp around it but seeing both vertical and horizontal lines just isn't working for me. If the horizontal lines were to just disappear, or become less subtle, then maybe it would look like an actual grille. The horizontal lines are not subtle at all, they are just in your face, just a weird mesh of hell no happening for me.

I prefer my stock grille painted black instead.

Yeah, I agree with this. I'm not sure I would necessarily like it... but it would absolutely look a lot better.

I love that E model but that grill isn't looking good for the W212 IMO, just my thought. And I do like that grill too, just not on 212.

I'm not claiming that's my car. Just looking for inspiration from what other forum members have done. Chill out...

So weird I saw one of these driving on the road yesterday, and made me do a double take. I forgot all about these cars, and here is it again.

Not trying to start an argument, but your first post leads one to believe the grille is on your car, when it isn’t. (Post #2 wants MORE pics of YOUR car. See?) Subsequent clarification is irrelevant.

In the 13 years I’ve viewed these forums, there have been numerous people posting (WWW) MB pics, posing to own a Mercedes when they don’t. Some of these people have been banned once proven, so you might consider my suggestions as trying to help.

Your other thread shows you own a W212 (good enough), and have replaced one aftermarket CF grille with the grille in question… https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...r-spoiler.html

If you can record a video, it should be no problem to replace the ebay pic in your OP with a still photo of YOUR car instead, as it sits today. That way, you can show you have skin in the aftermarket grille game yourself when asking others to post pics of their replacement grilles.

Absent that, you should edit your initial post to state the car pictured is not your car. Hope that is clearer.

I took your advise and edited the initial post. As I stated before, not trying to mislead anybody. Should be perfectly clear now.
