2010 E550 Aux battery substitute p/n?
I have the Aux battery warning pop up on me yesterday. The MB battery will be pricey, any problem with this one:
or any suggestions of a reasonable alternative? Thanks! (I have not pulled out the old one yet to check the p/n).

Something similar works quite well in my motorcycle but before the gurus come here, "Its not blessed and dipped in holy MB water" there fore its crap. I personally would not have a problem using one. Its a standard motorcycle/power-sport battery.

Isn't this the aux battery for that model?
I would worry about the motorcycle battery not fitting in the bracket.

EDIT: I did some digging and I believe OP vehicle, has a small battery under the dash, what he posted from Amazon is 14BS group size battery that was mounted on w211 under hood(For SBC brakes).
I believe OP is looking to replace this

Do you get key fob batteries at the dealer because Walgreens, CVS, Walmart ones might not fit? Its the same $ H I T but costs more. Mercedes did not reinvent the wheel.

FCP sells MB batteries for relatively good price, but they offer lifetime warranty.
For my 2014 E250 I remember paying about $110 for aux battery (what is bigger one) and since I plan to keep the car forever, the only thing that can not make my money well spend is FCP going out of business. Hope that doesn't happen before I get 2nd battery in couple of years.

THANKS for all the help! I had never heard of FCP but checked out the website, Looks like a great place to buy parts. I haven't pulled the dash cover and battery yet, but assume it will be the battery with the spade connectors that looks like a computer back-up battery instead of the one that looks like a motorcycle battery.

Yes, W212 have probably the most of technology changes you can find on any car model.
When first years had small back-up battery for gear shiftier and parking brake, the later models come with ECO stop, what requires bigger aux battery.
So your 2010 model most likely takes smaller battery, but I learn the hard way to never take anything with MB for granted.
Either buy replacement battery using your VIN, or pull the old one to make sure you don't have to buy it twice.
