Aux Battery Malfunction

Aux Battery Malfunction
I am getting an Aux Battery Malfunction message. I am away on a trip and far from MB dealer. I haven't used the MB much, but am about to take a 10 day trip. What problems might I have if the aux battery actually goes dead? I'd like to wait a month until I get home to get it serviced.
thanks

It will disable ECO stops (assuming you have lifted model since you choose not disclosure that)
When batteries sometimes can go for long time with low voltage and sometimes die overnight, you never know.
I had the warning on 1 of my car for weeks before new battery arrived and I got ready to replace it.
The morning warning would still go away later on and ECO would work.
FCP has relatively good prices for MB batteries, but they offer lifetime warranty.

I don’t know what a “lifted model” is or what ECO stops are. If the aux battery dies and the main battery is fine, is it safe to drive? How difficult is it to replace the aux battery myself. I Amin the woods and three hours from a MB dealer
Thanks much.

If you don't know what those terms mean, that would indicate that you have prelift model.
Disregard my notes at this point and don't hesitate to indicate what exactly you drive when you ask for advise.
On prelift models, the small battery in dash is backup for gear shifter.

You can look in your trunk to see if it is in the most common location:
Just make sure you get an exact replacement, making sure it is AGM. A non-AGM battery will cause problems.

I changed mine. I bought battery from a dealer for $65 but you can get the same battery for half price from battery stores like Interstate Battery.
Change is about out an hour job for the first time.

I just bought couple of smaller batteries for my gate opener.
Not sure what is MB size, but Razor/Mighty Max brand at Walmart sells for $16

I drove it about 50 miles yesterday and warning has disappeared. So, with fingers crossed, I am going to assume that we let it sit too long and that I can wait until I get home to have it fixed.
thanks for all the help

Think this one is ok? Says they are sealed lead acid. Would hate for it to leak.

I started seeing this message about a week ago. Now it comes on daily. No distronic plus is the biggest issue for me.
For a 2014 E63, is the battery in the same place, in the trunk as it shows in the video? I will check later when I get back to my car.
Is the battery from walmart above ok to use? Dealer quoted me 398+tax. would rather pay $15 vs $400.

another question on this: on the 2014 Model E250. does the Aux Battery sit in the trunk like the post number 5 or does it sit in the dash board? Or are there one in each location? If so, what warnings do I get each?

I don't get it. What about this one? I have one of these, don't I?
this makes 3 batteries to replace on this car........ it's like an engineer's wet dream..... why do they do that?

2014 e250BT has main battery in engine compartment (10 in diagram), and aux battery part # 0009829608 (500) in trunk. Dash battery (400) is not applicable note it’s grayed out.

I used a YTX14 motorcycle battery, More amp hours, cold cranking amps, identical case, and $40 shipped to your door. The one in my Gold Wing and Jet ski have last 5 years, if this one last only two year, I can buy a warehouse full of them before I let MB fist me with their prices.

AGM IS led-acid battery.
Only thanks to the mats used, it will operate upside down. Good to have if you drive for a Circus.

There are many more important advantages to AGM. The most important is deep-cycle capability. It does much better when it's discharged significantly. That's why they're required in small solar power systems. AGM also runs at a slightly higher voltage than flooded-cell batteries. I would never use flooded-cell in a car today.
