Advice for buying my first CPO Mercedes 2016 E350

Hey everyone, I am in the market to buy a CPO 2016 E350. I have two cars in mind right now and was wondering if I could get some help in reviewing the CarFax/Service history of these two potential choices. I looked through the current available models near me and noticed a few cars that had 10k mile gaps in their service history which alarmed me. If a CPO has a maintenance history with such large gaps, would that be a red flag? I immediately disregarded those cars because I assumed that was a bad sign (might be wrong here). The bottom two choices have smaller gaps in their car fax history.

MB for over 20 years has Flexible Service System where computer analyze driving and dictate oil changes + additional services.
Average interval is 13,000 miles on my cars, although latest models also have time counters and that can come sooner.
When some owners have different opinions about oversensitive lane tracking - everybody likes keyless go and at least front camera. Those are gadgets and car will drive fine (with good driver) without them, but we do love gadgets, don't we?
Get the cars properly inspected as lot of reports says that lot of dealers does lousy CPO preparation.
I bough our only new MB at Walnut Creek. One of most snobbish dealership in the country, but that in this case can be a good thing.

I would get the first one. That one has parktronic. The other one doesn't. Other than that, they're both about the same although the first one has even less mileage. These days it's 10k or 1 year for the oil changes.

Use this vin decoder to see the options each car has.

Thanks for the insight! I did notice some cosmetic damage for the grey 2016 E350 that was not mentioned in the listing like broken window buttons scrapes near the bottom of the bumper. Other than that, the drive was great and I could definitely feel the thrill of driving a V6 (considering my current car is a Camry). While I was there, I also ended up test driving the W213 model and really enjoyed the experience. I may also begin to look into W213 as a potential candidate for my next car as well!

Yeah after test driving the cars, I would definitely pick the first one over the second. I was unsure if more frequent maintenance services are good or bad, but I guess its more on a case by case basis.

It's basically the lighting package. Active curve illumination with auto high beams. That one looks like a rare one, lighting package with parktronic and the pano roof. Those three are a very hard combination to find. If it had the driver assistance package on top, that would be super rare. Driver assistance package which is basically distronic usually has a solid star in the center of the grill where the radar is, without it, it's the empty star.

Carfax can be a disastrous source of false info. Some people don't want the 19 year old at the dealership to change their oil, me being in that category.

In the last three months, I have flushed the transmission fluid, engine oil, differential fluid, brake fluid, changed camber/castor bolts and paid for 3 alignments as I dialed the car into my standards, not MB's wide range.
New tires, wipers, windshield, and interior steam clean also. None of that shows up anywhere for one of the fastidiously maintained MB's that ever lived.

I definitely agree! I've been pretty insistent on asking all the sales people i've talked to these past few days to show me the VMI/CPO Service History/Repair documentation and some try to pressure me to close the deal before I've had a chance to thoroughly review those documents. Definitely more cautious when I run into dealers that try to pressure me on the spot like that.

Here driver's assistance package is distronics plus the blind spot and lane keeping/departure. There are a bunch out there that just have blind spot and lane keeping/departure only without distronics. Sometimes I think Canada ends up with nicer stuff, the facelifted 2014 E550 was only around for that particular year in the US but Canada had it for more years. The pano isn't that common, at least keyless go and the power trunk closer seem to be pretty standard packages that show up on a lot of cars, they were rarer in the older years.

I'd love to see one the with driver's assistance package, rear entertainment, ventilated seats, Bang & Olufsen premium sound and real leather in addition to the pano, parktronic and keyless go package. Now that would be fully loaded, but you basically never see anything like that.
