Battery Life Expectancy 2014 E350
I own a 2014 E350 Coupe. The car still has the original battery (It has never been replaced). What is the general life expectancy of the battery? When should the battery be typically replaced?

4 years and 11 months...just before the warranty expired on my 2011 CPO E350 Bluetec, and I got a free battery from MB roadside assistance..
I keep it on a Battery Tender all the time now.

Starting in 2014 on US market, MB cars have ECO system, where 1 of the "smart power management" features is recouping kinetic energy for battery charging.
The system keeps batteries undercharged, so they can take the "free" charge whenever 1 is available.
The system is smart in saving fuel and emissions, but constant charging and discharging makes AGM batteries die in couple of years. The best I heard was 4 years, so OP might set new record, assuming he can produce battery manufacturing data.

Thanks for the reply. No I don't think I have recouping charging. Again the car still the original battery, it was suggested because of the age of the vehicle or battery to replace. Any other thoughts, please share.

Do you have ECO switch and light on your cluster?
Anyway, testing batteries is pretty tricky as you have to test chemistry by measuring electricity.
I do have 50 amp load tester and than new-technology SOLAR tester.
Between the 2 I can tell if the battery is on its last leg, or still performing well.
Also train your ear to listen to starter speed. Aged battery will crank a bit slower on cold morning. Most of the time battery will just not give enough on cold morning, but will start the engine thru the day, so that gives good warning, assuming you have booster in your garage.
Than sometimes batteries just blow.

My original starter VRLA battery lasted 3 years, and the auxiliary battery in the trunk went out about 2 months ago (5 years). These cars are hard on batteries it seems... much different from the pre-facelift and W211 series cars.
