My cars - W212 & MX-5
I finally got around to getting some (extremely) amateur photos of my rides.
Back in 2016, I had a 2014 C350 and I ended up getting a loaner E350 identical to this one and fell in love with car in this color. It took a while but I finally found one and bought it back in December as a CPO car with 29,000 miles. In the meantime I had been driving various cars with turbo four cylinders for a few years and I really wanted something with a naturally aspirated V6. I absolutely hate the interior of the W213, and the W205s I’ve driven have felt sort of cheap. So, for me, the 2016 W212 was perfect.
I was also a huge fan of the Ceramic color of the Miata with the cherry red top that was exclusive to the 2018s. Bought it new in 2018 and it has 17,000 miles.
Both of these cars are a pleasure to own/drive and I know most of you here have W212s, but if you’re looking for a toy to go with it - I don’t think it’s possible for a car to be more fun than a Miata.

Neat photos. Really like the Burgundy red, especially with the ribbon LED taillights. Thanks for sharing.

Both look great! Love that red - I've yet to see a W212 in my neighborhood in that color.
I agree with you - I really dislike the W213 and the pre-facelift W212 just didn't do it for me either. I had planned on keeping my W211 forever but when I found my 2016, I fell for it hard.
You have any mods in mind for yours?

No mods for the E350 aside from tints.
The Miata has a few mods - different grille, new steering wheel, sport pedals, LED turn signals front/rear, LED side markers.

Nice AP..1? I think of the S2000 as a bit of an icon, and you are correct it is in an entirely different category in terms of performance... which is exactly why I didn't ever buy one. The Miata is just so damned stupid it's hilarious. None of its real performance metrics are anything impressive, but it's just so giggle-inducing to drive. I considered an S2000 hard, but it seemed much more serious - and obviously much more dated. The Mazda's modern features (rain sensing wipers and adaptive LED headlights) as well as things like its 9-speaker Bose system that does a remarkable job for the environment and it has CarPlay and it's Mazda-subsidized 0% APR financing.. it was just the right choice for me. But yes, major respect to the S2000. Honda is really capable of some special things when they put their mind to it and too bad they don't still market anything like this. Then again, it's amazing any company does this anymore.

Mine doesn't see foul weather, ever, so I'm pretty sure the wiper blades are original
Keep the shiny side up!

Oh man I love Miatas. I really really want to get one. I'm eager to see what the beefed up ND2 leads to, in terms of power. I'm surprised the Mazdaspeed variant wasn't more popular.

In my opinion, it does not need additional power. A lot of people feel otherwise, but honestly I think that would take away some of the fun. At the current power level in the ND1 - 155hp - I can drive this thing WOT and never be over my head (or in jail).

‘89 911 Carrera I should have kept in the stable. Fun car, but not very powerful. I’m tall, and the Germans know how to build cars for guys like me. One of the reasons I like Mercedes Benz so much.
I like the Miata a lot and have friends with S2000’s. I cannot fit my legs into the S2000, but no trouble in the Miata. Right now I’m playing with the GT350 at the track. It’s more brute HP over a momentum car, but so much fun. Last of the big HP naturally aspirated manual cars made. They are disappearing fast.
526 Horsepower.

I'm really going to miss NA engines when they really do cease to exist. The turbo stuff is impressive, don't get me wrong - but the consistency of a NA engine is something I took for granted for a long time.

Yes, turbos just mess up the exhaust so much. The GT350 is the best sounding car I have ever owned. The flat plane crank also helps with that. My 2010 E550 sounded so much better than my current 2014 E550.
At WOT in the 2010, it sounded like a muscle car from the 60’s.

ND is the chassis code name for the 2016-current Miata.
ND1 - 2016-2018 model
ND2 - 2019-present model which was considered a mid-cycle refresh. It got a backup camera, telescoping steering wheel, and a reworked engine upping redline to 7500 and HP from 155 to 181

Nice rides LilBenz! That red/tan color combo is great! And the new Miata's never fail to turn my head.
Lot's of nice rides on this thread!
