Extending the ELW or Manufacturers warranty
Hello All,
I bought the 7yr/100k mile ELW from MB which expires this June 2020. Currently vehicles is at 85k miles.
I had an appointment for this morning that I scheduled a month ago. I chose not to break my self-quarantine to get these issues[1] fixed (I'm driving less than 10 miles per WEEK and go out to get groceries only). I did not think these issues are worth the risk of getting exposure to the virus.
I can document all the issues and show as proofs to them once the COVID-19 is under control and the business is as usual.
So, is there a way Mercedes can help us extend the warranty on all cars for 6 months or whatever?
What are your thoughts on this? Is this a silly or bad idea? Banks are deferring payments on auto loans, mortgages. Credit cards are deferrign the payments without penalties. Utility bills are deferred (probably if you can prove you are unemployed may be?). Why can't Manufacturers extend the warranty?
Was there a discussion on this already?
[1] Issues:
a. Rip in driver seat (MB-TEX)
b. Metal clanking noise from driver side wheel well - recently had both struts replaced on the front and new brakes and rotors all around.
c. Static/distorted noise when taking phone calls on handsfree (after they recently removed and attached the overhead panels and A-pillar panels to address creaking noise over harsh roads). probably they kinked a wire for the speaker.

If you are limiting your driving -- as we all are -- then you are extending the mileage portion of your warranty already.
No reason for Mercedes-Benz to participate in it, too. Sorry (I guess).
We are all inconvenienced by the virus situation. But auto repairs are not essential services, so your MB Dealership might not be open in the first place. (You don't want to get the virus there, but they also don't want to risk you bringing it to them, either.)

FYI auto REPAIR is consider one of the essential businesses to stay open along with auto parts stores.
Question is do dealerships want to stay open for service and all the cleaning they have to do between peeps?

Dumb Question here. Does a 7yr/100k mile warranty give you an additional 7 years too the Basic new car 4 year warranty or does it add 3 years to the Basic new car 4 year warranty? Thanks.

I've been receiving emails from MB and my dealer every few days.
They're open. If Sadie needs service, I'll take her in for service. At the worst, she'll need an interior cleaning with the appropriate agent such as hydrogen peroxide, ethanol, methanol, 2-propanol, or sodium hypochlorite depending on the surface.
On the other hand, I usually take her over for a wash and cleaning every now and then, because I trust the dealer more than a carwash. I have not been doing that the past couple of weeks. It's starting to get warm enough here that I can wash her myself.
Dear Customers,During these times of heightened sensitivity/awareness to Coronavirus (COVID-19), our first priority is to keep both our employees and customers healthy.
Effective Wednesday, March 25th, we will be open from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday. Please note this is a temporary change.
MERCEDES-BENZ PARTS & SERVICE:

If you're that concerned about it, call the service department and get your issues recorded along with the date and mileage of your car. I took my car in for some thing (can't recall what) right before the CPO was up, and they couldn't get me in for another month. I had the girl at the front desk enter the date and mileage right into the work order and whole that was probably overkill, just reporting the issue before the warranty was up was enough.
