Extending the ELW or Manufacturers warranty
I bought the 7yr/100k mile ELW from MB which expires this June 2020. Currently vehicles is at 85k miles.
I had an appointment for this morning that I scheduled a month ago. I chose not to break my self-quarantine to get these issues[1] fixed (I'm driving less than 10 miles per WEEK and go out to get groceries only). I did not think these issues are worth the risk of getting exposure to the virus.
I can document all the issues and show as proofs to them once the COVID-19 is under control and the business is as usual.
So, is there a way Mercedes can help us extend the warranty on all cars for 6 months or whatever?
What are your thoughts on this? Is this a silly or bad idea? Banks are deferring payments on auto loans, mortgages. Credit cards are deferrign the payments without penalties. Utility bills are deferred (probably if you can prove you are unemployed may be?). Why can't Manufacturers extend the warranty?
Was there a discussion on this already?
[1] Issues:
a. Rip in driver seat (MB-TEX)
b. Metal clanking noise from driver side wheel well - recently had both struts replaced on the front and new brakes and rotors all around.
c. Static/distorted noise when taking phone calls on handsfree (after they recently removed and attached the overhead panels and A-pillar panels to address creaking noise over harsh roads). probably they kinked a wire for the speaker.

No reason for Mercedes-Benz to participate in it, too. Sorry (I guess).
We are all inconvenienced by the virus situation. But auto repairs are not essential services, so your MB Dealership might not be open in the first place. (You don't want to get the virus there, but they also don't want to risk you bringing it to them, either.)

Question is do dealerships want to stay open for service and all the cleaning they have to do between peeps?

On the other hand, I usually take her over for a wash and cleaning every now and then, because I trust the dealer more than a carwash. I have not been doing that the past couple of weeks. It's starting to get warm enough here that I can wash her myself.
