Looks like humongous amount of work.
Why didn't you rewire the fuse on existing supply?
W211 had lighter plug fuse with 2 options to insert, so you could have it on constant supply as well.
Did MB deleted the option in W212 ?

Your post has me tearing through my w212 owner's manuals looking for the procedure to switch the Cig Lighter to constant supply. I can't find it. Maybe someone else knows about this?

Also, the owner's manual says the Comand Manual has info on the 115V outlet, as well. I can't find this, either. I bought a power inverter to keep in the car for when needed. Did I not need to do so? Where is the 115V outlet? And what plugs into it?

Not really that’s much work, most time took it to repair drain thing and video all thing. Like to charge phone with car not on, and don’t like the cable to hang in the console!

These cars develop any number of parasitic drains that are so difficult to trace. My old C-Class no longer has power seats, because both seat modules were disconnected {at separate times} due to parasitic drains that killed the battery.

So I don't leave anyting attached when my car engine is off.

Given the long periods of cold weather at your extreme latitude, unless you have a heated garage, I would be reluctant to let anything draw current with the engine off.

I read about inverter in car manual (?). That was like 3 years ago, but I don't recall reading command manual.
If you have the option, the adapter will be in rear ashtray compartment. Don't think it was popular option though.
Considering that 100W inverters sell for $20, giving a choice of $300 option, I think I would decline. I have inverter in my Ford truck, who is used as an RV with camper on it, and in 3 years I actually used it like 2 times.
I am too lazy to go to my car now, but W211 lighter fuse has 3 prongs. When you put the fuse on 1 side - it is ignition controlled, when other side makes it constant supply.

Yah I understand was thinking about that to, but givit a try not going to use this for other things only for phone charge. We got som bad winters here and not
got heated garaget right now, only electric motor heater. Going to do buy a multimeter and se if it drain power.

My first Mercedes, the 2011 E350 had the 115V outlet option. It was in place of the rear seat ash tray where the 12V outlet is in the end of the center console below the air vents.

You can plug any 115V device in it as long as it does not pull too much power to blow the fuse. I don't remember what power rating it had but it was fine for computer that I connected to it sometimes.
