Actually Mercedes did not coded off, they merely did not coded it in.
All cars are made in the same factories, so it makes sense that they all share the same hardware.
And since law can change they allow updates to be made.
I really hope this works as I have a lot of backroads here in Florida, and this would help at night.
Thinking about it may also get rid of the V since the headlight projector will be moving around a bit more.

Any service advisor with tell you this is not possible. It would literally be illegal for MB to officially offer this in the USA so nobody would touch this and that's assuming that it's even possible using "normal" STAR programming.
All this is too bad because it's a result of the USA's very antiquated Federal Regulations written years ago before the advent of modern HID/LED lighting systems.

This won't do you any good. Based on my research into this, it IS possible as long as you have access to Star/Xentry/DTS Monaco/Vediamo. But most of us don't have this. Someone on the W205 forum was able to get it activated themselves through experimentation with DTS Monaco. Maybe your experience is different, but I've yet to interact with a service advisor (at any brand) who wasn't lucky to have even been able to find his/her way to work. They always know next to nothing about the cars.
With Vladimir's module, it's as simple as plugging it in and pressing a few buttons. Anyone can do it. And you can save the tuneOBD module in case you want something else in the future and he will be able to guide you through how to update the module for the new stuff.

Mine is 2012. I was told the car had the "LED Lighting Package" as it is a P1/P2 car. Every other light on the car, other than the HID headlamps, are LED. I was mearly mistaken on that fact as I assumed that everything was LED. I did speak with Vlad and he offered to try on my car, but I have decided to wait for now and let someone else be the guinea pig in this venture. I've got my toes in another "guinea pig" scenario and would like to bring it to fruition before starting another unknown project. I am happy to wait for now as my car has the best light of any other vehicle I've ever had...by a longshot! LOL!

I would not mention it to the dealer if you’re still under warranty of any kind. Same as the apple CarPlay stuff. No reason to have the sniffing around when they won’t even notice it on their own.
