No problem. Question is, will they return my call!
My guess is no. You’re giving them a lot of credit in hoping they know about what these cars are capable of outside the US. But I hope they do at least have the courtesy of calling back. My SA would laugh in my face and deny ILS even exists.
How do you go about doing this in xentry? I do have access to xentry but they need to know how to activate this
Who is "they"? This is not going to be something the dealer can do. I did quite a bit of research on this chasing this feature and the closest I got was an offer from a member on the W205 forum to work on mine remotely, but it required access to DTS Monaco and Vediamo according to them. It was not going to be a simple Xentry activation. For some reason I had it in my mind it would be as simple as my old W203 where I used Xentry to code "Xenon = Present"... - the guys said that there were lots of changes needed to activate ILS.
Vladimir's module will be the easiest, quickest bet for anyone who wants this.
IF this had been easy to do, tons of us would have had this years ago. The W212 platform is 10 years old and we're just now here at a point where a few of the cars are getting this functionality. A search of the MBWorld forum at large shows a ton of posts asking questions about how to go about getting ILS in North America, but very few successes. It seems with this new module that will be changing for whoever decides to spend the $$$.

Ordered the ILS unlock module from Vladimir. Added AMG menu, ECO on-off, and AGILITY transmission mode. Will report back on results...
Congrats - I debated both AMG menu and Agility transmission mode.. Let me know how you like those things when you review the ILS. I think you're going to be happy with it!
I have also ordered full ILS functionality from Vladimir. I added the seatbelt warning chime defeat, fuel level display, and 7G agility mode. Excited to report results.
It’s worth noting that he can also defeat Eco default on. I like Eco, so I did not choose this option, but I know many forum members wish to defeat it.

I hope some of you can capture better video than me. It's worth noting that if you wish to add things later, you can still use this tuneOBD module and Vladimir can send you the files and you can load it yourself. It will save you shipping next time.
Note there is a 0.5 gallon margin hidden from the fuel level display. From full my car (21.1gal tank) shows 20.6 on the level display.

What's the cost and can you let me know what "AGILITY" does? I don't care about the AMG menu (unless it adds something other than an AMG menu), but the other things may be appealing. This is exciting stuff.
Just emailed Vladimir on whether this will work with my 2014 W212 E350, my car has both code 608 (Automatic High Beam Switch IHC) and code 640 (Dynamic LED Headlamps, SAE, Right-Hand Traffic). I'm also seeing other members adding other options to their module. What does the 7G Agility mode do? Also was does the AMG menu offer?
@DMWelk - Those codes are the same as my E350 and ILS works for me.
@DubVBenz - "Agility" mode for the 7G is essentially what Sport+ is on the newer cars. I find my car is plenty aggressive in regular sport mode and I drive 99% in just E mode, so I did not enable this feature.
@ccww - Surprisingly little information is out there on the W212 full LED system. I have been pointed to documentation about the 2014 CLS, but that is not correct. The W212 does not have multibeam LEDs. The car is mechanically masking the light, not using selective dimming of individual diodes. Perhaps that is why there is so little information available.
Using the term: Intelligent Lighting System, to describe the lights isn’t really the best way to identify headlamps. ILS is more of a function rather than halogen, xenon or led “bulbs”. It’s the capability of those headlamps specifically to your vehicle.
Now, here are Mercedes LED lighting headlamps, between all the vehicle classes, which adds to ILS functions and capabilities - A look at your headlamps should tell you what they are, the words are molded into the housing.
Please note the W212 has the first link - Dynamic Full LED.
The W212 does not have any form of the multibeam or digital lighting.
Hey LB, might you also know what is in the AMG menu? Just curious, thanks. I would love to add this ILS option, I will wait to hear how things go for the pre-facelift guys! I would love Apple car play, don't know if that is possible on a 13.

CarPlay unlock is exclusive to the 2016 model produced after 03/2015 and running the latest version of COMAND software from 09/2015. It is possible to add CarPlay to older ones using aftermarket solutions but I am not very familiar.

Vladimir got back to me within a hour of my email to him and as stated by LILBENZ230 the ILS module will work with my car. I have a few things I would like to take care of on my wife's newly purchased GLE 400, then I'll definitely be adding this feature. I'll likely add it to my wife's vehicle as well as the better lighting was the main purpose of replacing her halogen head lamped GLE 350.

Thanks very much for the responses.
This makes me wonder more about how the W212 supposedly masks out other vehicles on the beam pattern. Does it really do this effectively with the mechanical mechanism?
This article also mentions the stereo cameras detecting pedestrians and the headlights highlighting them. Is this correct?
Then there’s the intelligent LED headlights that use radar and stereo cameras to detect oncoming cars and let you stay on high beam while blanking out a section of light around them. The same system also identifies errant walkers and flashes light specifically on them. It’s clever stuff.
I don't have the driver's assistance package - that is the one with the dual stereo cameras - so I would not be able to test this. I do not know that the E is capable of that sort of spotlighting feature, though. It might be, but to me that seems more like something one of the multibeam setups would do. Lots of people think the 2014 CLS and 2014 E had the same lighting tech, but that's just not true. The 2014 E is more in line with the 2010 CLS.
What I can tell you from testing this is that the car does a great job masking other vehicles mechanically. It is very effective.
Here is an article on Benz lighting tech from the time period:
This article states that facelift W212 models also adjust intensity of the tail lamps based on ambient lighting. I haven't noticed this, but I haven't looked to see if that was part of this activation. It may not be a thing in the US since our taillights are physically different.

The AMG menu will look something like this:
Not something I was interested in.
Me either I don't think, car is fast enough in sport which I hardly use, not much interested in aftermarket add ons for car play either, but I really like the headlight mod. Thanks for the reply

I do have the stereo cameras from the driver assistance package. Perhaps I'll find out once I get my upgrade from Vladimir, although I don't do much driving in complete darkness this time of year with how late the sun sets.
