Hello everyone. I need some help to find a problem. My fuel pump makes gurgling noise for 5-10 seconds when i turn key to position 2. After l start a car i still can hear it but not that loud. Does anyone had this problem and know where to start looking. I seen a lot of post where people changing fuel pumps and problem still there. It sounds for me like air inside.

Have you resolved the issue ? I have the same problem it only started happening after taking the car to garage for timing chain replacement since then its doing exactly as what your car is doing.
I did take it back to them (MSL Bradford) but there is no faults with the car after doing all there checks.

It is a returnless system meaning the in-tank pump feeds the engine high pressure pump with a constant pressure based on a ball and spring regulator. The regulator is integrated and fixed without a diaphragm.
Most of the pumped juice goes nowhere... but directly back into the tank through the pump pressure relief discharge.
That being said, the YouTube sound track does sound like air is getting involved - Even a low tank should not introduce any air because it has a reserve 1.5 gallon tub to host the pump inlet.

I would pull the pump and level sensor assemblies and check the plastic hoses used for siphoning and moving the fuel around in the tank. Sounds like one of the plastic hoses may be cracked/disconnected allowing the pump to cavitate.

Hi i have the same issue i got the timing chain replaced when they put engine back in and after i got it the noise was there i did take it back to them. They did all the checks and check if any air was in the fuel system and it was all okay but he noise is still there if anyone could help it would be great.

Do a little more research on your issue....
I think you'll find that your pump has developed a crack in the plastic pump housing assembly.
Do a tune up of these tank parts... change as many as you care to, including your working pump or not, filter or not etc... but replace housing and pump hoses.

My plastic flange at the sending unit / filter completely cracked and was gushing fuel out, even at idle. Does your car smell of fuel? Pull back your seat and dust cover for the filter and look for leaking fuel.

With regards to the Om651 fuel pump noise on "gurgling noise " on models from 2010-2013 one of the causes are the injector fuel return line.
Replace the injector fuel return line before interfering with the rear pump and sender unit.

I have had the same problem i did some research people have said to change the the full injector leak off pipe part number is A6510706381
And this has resolved my issue I am so happy because it has been like this for a about a year since doing the timing chain.

The strange thing here is why this kind of a problem starts after timing chain change. This is a 2014 model? if so it has a direct injectri9n engine, right.
The high pressure fuel pump(s) under the hood are driven by the cam shaft so that the pump gives a fuel pressure peak at the correct time to press the fuel in the cylinder under the high pressure from compression. Could the timing chain change somehow have changed the timing that also changes timing of the pump?
Are there any extra noises under the hood around the HP fuel pump(s)?
