OEM Wheel Part Number??

Would someone who has access to parts lookup find the correct OEM part number for the 18" R38 5-double spoke wheels on my 2016 E350 Sport. Lots of different opinions about the proper wheel for my car on the internet. Wheel damaged on recent trip and now vibration is present after replacing tire that was blown.

VIN# WDDHF5KB9GB203261

And another question: Are OEM reconditioned wheels preferred over new aftermarket wheels?

Great info Konigstiger. Thank you.

And another question: Are OEM reconditioned wheels preferred over new aftermarket wheels? At a Scottsdale dealership, the cost is about $30-$40 difference, the reconditioned wheel being higher with a $130 core either choice. My wheel has an radial bend in the inside corner about 1/8" - 3/16" where the wheel hit the lip of the hole in the highway. If anyone has an opinion or information, please give me your thoughts.

Whoever replaced the tire should have seen the rim was bent. Why not just have it repaired? Run around on the spare while it’s getting fixed. Cost -$100-$125

That's what we've had to do several times now. I believe it was $125 cash. Using a credit card increased the fee.

We were in the middle of a trip from Kansas to Charleston, SC and return. Our blowout was about 11PM, raining, on Thursday night, construction zone, drove 3 or 4 miles on the flat tire @20 mph to get to a place where we could change it to the donut spare. There sure was a long line of traffic behind us when we pulled off! We drove to Memphis and got a motel room. Our original Michelin tires were purchased at Costco, but they didn't have any of same type in stock in Memphis the next morning. Then we went to Discount Tire who had a replacement tire, same type. They knew of the blowout problem, looked at the wheel and it looked pretty good (no scratches to speak of) to the eye and tire balanced, but you could see a little wobble in the tire tread. They had me look at it before mounting on the car. The choice was to mount the new tire on the bent wheel, or put the donut back on. With over 1800 miles left on the trip, and a tight timeline, we chose the new tires on the bent wheel. It made a little noise, but otherwise seemed to be the best we could do under the circumstances.

At Discount Tire, they said they could order a new OEM wheel, or a refurbished OEM wheel, or a complete set of after market wheels, but they did not discuss calling in someone to repair the bent wheel. And we just didn't have the luxury of time to wait for a repair even if it were offered. Now that I'm back in Kansas, I'm looking for a wheel repair place, but none in our town. There is one in Missouri, about 1'15" away that I will contact in the next few days.

What's the Mb part number of the wheel? Depending on the repair price, might be a wash. The ones for my W211 are down to about $140 for a new wheel so it's no longer worth fixing bent ones when you'll still get curb rash on the old wheel. I think on the W212, they're still close to $200 so it might still be worth it to get it unbent depending on how bad the old wheel looks. I looked on Yelp to find a place that did the unbending but you could also ask the local tire shops, they probably know some local shops that do it. When I've had them done, they were usually booked up a week in advance so it's not like you can just walk in and get it done. Took the guy about an hour and he had to dismount and mount the tire.

The wheel part number is in post #2. I haven't seen ANY new wheel prices as low as you show, at least not on the internet. I found a wheel shop about 90 miles away from me who will straighten the wheel for $125, assuming it can be straightened. Given the slight apparent damage, I THINK it will be repairable. I didn't receive any wheel rashes inside or outside from the blowout an if I posted a picture of other wheel vs bent wheel, there would be no difference, I think that was due to having run-flat tires on my car. I didn't even know I had those because I didn't order those although that's what COSTCO installed.

Here you go, $197 and I think they offer $30 for your old wheel. Usually the difference is that if it's bent, they'll give you the $30, but if it's cracked, they don't really consider that repairable so you only get $15. The same one is on eBay for $1 more. Seems to be the best price, otherwise the next one up is about $240.Anyways, maybe cheaper to just fix the old rim. But you could just get a new rim and fix the old one so you have a spare handy... My local shop charges $95 to fix a bent rim, but charges $20 to dismount/mount a tire. Costco is about $20 to dismount a tire off an old rim and mount it on a new rim.

It's a replica and it's somewhat of a toss up. I got refurb OEM rims about 3 years ago and one of them cracked and the other one got bent after 2 years. So the 2nd time I got replicas. After a little over a year, both are still fine, but I think the jury is still out, they might be about the same, maybe just a matter of time before they also get bent/cracked.

That's the same place I got my replica rims from. The W211 rims were just $140. Price of rims seem to go down the longer they're out. Also I don't know about the pictures from the first link, but in theory it's the same rim as it's the same Hollander part number.

I went to a wheel repair shop in Blue Springs,MO to get my wheel straightened. Took them about 5 minutes to finish the job. Couldn't be straightened. Not a bend or bump, lots of bends and bumps, both directions. The man said that he could spend 5-6 hours trying to make the wheel spin smoothly, but he thought it was just too bad. Put the tire back on the car and drive home. Will find a suitable replacement wheel.

I do have another question: How is the center cap installed into the wheel?

I guess you got your money's worth out of that wheel if you managed to get it to last through several bends. The cap just pops on, easy to pop it out from the back, but from the front you have to pry a little but be careful not to scratch up the wheel. You can buy the caps on eBay. The ones from China are cheap but take a while to ship. There's also different colors/shades out there too. You could pop off the old one and see the exact part number on the back.

Cetialpha5 I want to buy replica from Wheelership because the price is the same as to fix the bend one. Are you still satisfied with the durability?

Well they haven't bent/cracked since I bough them so I guess they're fine so far. Haven't been driving that much lately though. I had bought refurbished OEM ones before and those also bent/cracked just like real MB rims.

I bought one of their wheels and still had problems - I had bent 2 wheels during our blowout, not one like we originally thought. They ship quickly and look nice. No problems at this point One of the wheels balanced with absolutely no weights. That's a first for me. I'd buy again if I needed to. Just make sure you get exactly the wheel you want. There are so many of them.
