If you do get one, I'll send you the carb adjuster kit and a custom water pump puller I had to make.
I remember you mentioning you had one couple years back. Also,I asked my buddy in Laguna Beach to send me a current picture of my wife's 2002, he sent me this:right color, but doesn't look right to me! he's 79 now, I'll try again.

EDIT; Wife came home, took one look and said "My car!" I stand corrected.
I had a beat up 1973 2002 that I traded my new AMC gremlin for in 1976. The coed who owned it ran it to death in 3 years and a neighbor taught me how to replace the brake rotors and pads (drums in the back!) and do tuneups. I learned on my
own how to do the water pump, alternator and I even read a chilton’s manual and rebuilt the carb for fun! Eventually the rot got to it from winters at Penn State and I had to junk it. It was a really sweet simple car and a great car to learn on. My 2016 E350 4matic is a great car but I open the hood and can barely change the oil…

sigh

I always wondered if you drained the fluid on any 125k mile car would you see that. Does not appear to be the case with yours.

You do good work BTW.
100k, no glitter and thanks.

once had an orange Tii with the same rot problem. removed the door cards to install a pair of jensen speakers and found a red sea. owned the car for a whole six months. one could view door glass and rails as the car drove past few months later. can only imagine what a pair of unmolested door panels go for today.

a friend had a 2002Tii when I was in college back in the early 70s... that thing needed *HIGH* octane gas, so he had to add octane booster to every tank. but man, it could scoot and was great fun to fling around on a mountain road or the twisty stretches of highway 1 north of the bay area.

i thought that car was a rocket ship. during HS; we still had arco and sunoco stations selling 104 octane in my area.

Thank you for the reply. That makes me feel better about the differential replacement.
