Thumbs up Buying BBS LM wheels for a E63style W212

Im thinking about buying my e-class sedan some BBS LM wheels, and i was wondering what ET i should go with. The current setup i have in mind for the build is to install some 8,5x19" ET35 upfront and 9.5x19" ET30 in the rear. And i am not sure how deep these wheel faces are going to be, but was wondering if anyone could explain the "ET", and let me know their opinion on the render i made. (Im going to install a e63 style bodykit and lower the car when installing these rims)

Wheels look nice. Front should be fine at ET35. Rears will poke. My rear ET is 52, and my wheels are OEM E63 AMG by BBS.

Et is the wheel's offset. I.E. where the mounting surface that bolts up to the brake rotor is,... as compared to the center-line of the rim. If that surface was dead center in the rim,. with the inner and outer beads being both 4" away (on an 8" wide wheel),.. then the offset would be zero.

Your 35 offset means your wheel's mating surface is 35mm outboard of the rim's center-line.

Check your fender clearance. If you go to a 1" wider wheel with the same offset,.. you'll loose 1/2" of clearance on both sides. (Presuming the same brand and model of tire,... they vary in how much they bulge out).

A 1" wider wheel with a 30 offset (instead of 35) would place the outer edge of the rim 3/10" further out, and the inside edge 7/10" further in.

Do you have any pictures of your rear fitment. By poke? do you mean it wil poke out of the arches or do they sit flush. I want the wheels to sit flush with the arches.

These are 285’s on 9.5” wide wheels. Once again a ET50 offset. You are looking to push out 20mm further. I would do a test fit before purchasing to be sure you are happy.

yeah, I have 19x9.5 ET39, and originally I wished they were ET40 as my 285's rubbed ever so slightly when going over large bumps when loaded...I was able to fix it with a die grinder by removing about 1/16" or metal from the quarter panel lips where the rear bumper mounts up to it.

so, yeah, ET30 would stick out of the fender over 3/4".

This is the best site I've found to play around with wheel and tire sizes...takes a bit to get it setup right, but once you have all the info correct, it is amazing! https://www.wheel-size.com/

Here is a comparison of my setup vs KEY08's: https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whe...wcl=0mm&sr=0mm

Thanks for the answer! Im sorry i did not give my tire width info. I will not be running any tire bigger than 265s. I dont have the most powerful engine so there wont be any need to have too wide tires. The setup i had in mind was a Front: 8,5" rim with 245/40/19 ET35 and Rears : 265/35/19 with a 9,5" ET30. But i can also opt for a 8,5inch rim with 255/265 rear tires with an ET35. Will this still poke? As you see im not so well informed on this specific topic. Thanks for the replies

There is also a possibility for me to run a square setup of 245/40/19 ET35 all around if that is a good idea?

9.5 ET30 just won't fit, sorry. If you're not concerned with the "stance" look of staggered wheels, the square setup would be cheaper and allow you to rotate front to rear.

Is your car 4Matic or RWD? If you go with a staggered setup on 4Matic you need to be very careful with tire selection size from front to rear to keep the differentials happy.

Not only 4matic... ABS and ESP get unhappy if the tire outer diameters vary from the stock sizes.
