I like the OE filter with the zig zag pattern, I believe it's designed for the 10k mile intervals. I don't know who makes it, may be multiple manufacturers, Mahle makes good stuff, so does Hengst. The ones I get say "Made in France"

I just get the Mann filters on Rockauto. Although you could just get them on FCPeuro and take advantage of their lifetime warranty. But it might cost you as much to send back the old filter so maybe get their oil change kit so it's worth it to get free oil changes for life.

I'm not a fan of stroking the dealer's ego or lining their pockets. But I do buy their OEM oil filter, at wholesale ($18-$20 or so). It documents that I regularly got the filter there, too.

When it comes to oil filters I stick with the OEM ones. I buy mine wholesale from my dealer for $13 and change. Pretty reasonable and does exactly what its supposed to do.
