Deep growling sound and vibrations at certain speed and rpm
Hello,
My E350 automatic has been doing there weird growling sounds and vibrates when the rpm reaches 2500 at relatively slow speeds (30-50 mph) especially at the 4th gear (at 3rd and 5th symptoms still present).
i tried shifting transmission to neutral when the growling and vibrations occur and magically they disappear (obviously the rpm goes down to roughly around 1500, so i don't know if the problem is from the engine or the transmission)
Am I missing something?
Thank in advance for your help.

4Matic? Sounds transmission related. When was your last transmission service?

Not sure why, because I'm not that smart, but I have a hunch you'd figure it out if you got under the car and did a thorough inspection...
While you're under there, check these:

2010 E350 4Matic
no jerking nor hesitation just a deep growling sound inside the cabin along with an unusual vibration felt when resting hands on the middle compartment (between driver and front passenger). It lasts until the car automatically shifts to the highest gear and then it reappears at roughly the same rpm on this new gear (especially 3rd, 4th and 5th).
I hope I am explaining the symptoms clearly.

Perhaps an axle if no vibration in the steering wheel and body shaking like mad.

Have you checked the engine/transmission mounts?
If the mounts have collapsed, then the engine vibration is transferred to the chassis.
They are known to go bad, and are typical replacement items at higher mileage/age.
