Multiple electrical problems
Hello MB World
Yesterday I discovered several faults on my otherwise reliable S212, I think the faults started simultaneous, there for the cause logically would be something they have in common. Hope some of you have an idea to help find the cause.
1) Driver side window auto close button – No function
2) Menu control button by gear selector – Side scroll not working
3) Climate control, regardless of setting – No heating
4) Air intake – No airflow from dashboard vents (Window and foot well OK)
Nice forum, hope to contribute in the future J

First rule of Fight Club.... I mean W212s is to scan for codes.
Start by making sure the main battery is in good health.... voltage and load testing ideally. 12.6-12.7 VDC resting (no load), and no less than 10 VDC when cranking. Then proceed to charge the main battery with appropriate charger to ensure highest SOC, then disconnect the main battery for 10 min, reconnect it, clear codes, and see what codes come back.
Post results.

what's your current mileage, any recent repairs?
Troubleshooting is the process of elimination to corner fixes. The consensus is low voltages are an excellent provider of troubles ...
By now you'd think if Benz was serious about delivering great experience, the mBrace module would rat out DTC's on the fly for quick fixing

Thanks for the advice
The car is from 2011 it has done 260K miles, a year ago the height sensors, and air suspension was changed on the rear axel all original parts.
I think the original 2011 main battery is bad, after unlocking and opening the hood it was 11.7 VDC, after a couple of minutes it had resin to 12.1 VDC it charged to 14.0 VDC in under one hour, and after removing the charger it settled at 12.2 VDC after a short time. While cranking it dropped to 9.5 VDC. I have no problem starting now, but did get a warning for low voltage one freezing morning a couple of months ago, so I guess the MB was aware of the emerging problem.
I have a Bluetooth OBD2 ELM327 Automotive Diagnostic dongle, it connects to the BM and shows sensor values, but I have not been able to find any app that can read fault codes via this device, maybe it is not compatible with MB. – Any suggestions for an app or ODBII tool?

The battery is toast. It was due for replacement 5 years ago. Replace it.

scanner coverage...
Can iCarSoft see the Headlights module and Suspensions module.... ??
I have an "Autel DiagLink" scantool that sees about 33 modules but not the aboves. Cost around $150, good for general poking with online coverage updates - Nothing's better than the OEM Xentry .

I believe there might be an MB specific download for your Autel, I remember a friend mentioned that. They are excellent scanners.
