Got any mice living around your garage? They like to chew on things that make cars work and cause intermittent shorts when wires are exposed and lose contact.

Possibly a Faulty SAM Modular Control
my 212 2012 E350 Wagon had a catastrophic
failure last month which, after 2 weeks of Independent diagnosis, was found to be a failed SAM part.
This part costs $800, and has to be dealer installed for satellite link-ups.
This vital part is in all recent & current MBZ,
& the car is going nowhere if yours has failed.

So sorry to learn about your failed Sam part..... I have been enjoying track days and wondering how hard is that on my car and if this is a result?
did get up to 143 mph1at VIR... OTHER
than pads, rotors and tires what is potential non accident risks of repairs.

If tracking this beast you will need to be keeping a keen eye on all fluids. Oil, transmission, differential, and brake. They should all be changed regularly throughout the season. All normal maintenance intervals are no longer in play. You need to be checking all of your suspension components before and after each track event as they take extra stress.
Have fun, but be safe. Do you buy track event insurance? It’s easy to say you don’t need it until you do, and your insurance company won’t cover any HPDE damage.

Yes, the track insurance is in case of physical damage only. You might be a great driver, but lots of drivers don’t pay proper attention. You could be behind someone for an entire lap waiting for a point- by that never comes. Some drivers are in their own world and dangerous.

The glow plugs and air conditioner on my truck quit working one day. Odd that both systems would fail at the same time... Noticed some firewall insulation coming out of a hole at the bottom of the engine fuse box... took things apart and sure enough a mouse nest had grown in there and the residents had decided to eat all the green wires.

huge power drain.... > sounds like a shorted $80 rectifier diode or Regulator/Brush >> Alternator.
Mileage at 130K.... > maintenance time >> replace both parts as standard wear items.
Pls let us know
