No Sound
2011 E350 sedan 4matic. Stored and mostly idle for two years. Car was very occasionally driven during timeframe, but not on charger. Sound worked during short drives in last two years. Recently, now that I am making it a daily driver again, sound did not come on when started. Sound worked two weeks ago when still stored. All other options and accessories operate correctly including all COMAND functions however, no sound for radio, DVD/CD player, telephone, etc. The MBRACE voice works fine as I accidently punched the wrong button and the MBRACE voice talked to me making sure everything was okay. Volume control knob and steering wheel buttons unable to operate volume.
I have already checked the fuses under hood for failure and they appear okay (#11 and 15 I believe). Former MB Shop Manager friend suggested I get it diagnosed and re-flashed at MB dealer. I don't have a code reader so I am unable to see faults. Not sure next step.
Any thoughts or assistance would be great.

How did you maintain the batteries for 2 years while stored ?
Did you happen to connect your car to a float charger set to "AGM mode" by any chance..? (higher voltage for disconnected "deep cycle" batts )
What part do you think is acting up:
the speakers amplifier module -Or the sound sources?
Buy yourself a scanner, it will shortly pay for itself... in saved time & repairs
Without one you're virtually blind to what exactly your car is up to.

Car was not on charger or tender.
I don't believe it is the speakers acting up as everything worked one day and the next nothing. So, could be amp or COMAND module.
Getting a scanner tool is on my list, just hadn't done it yet. Good advice though.

The absence of Comand turning on when I start my car (when running at shut-down) is indication the battery is not dead, but depleted.

The COMAND works, Nav, Audio, Disc, System, etc. all work just fine. I drove it for 9 hours last Sunday and all functions worked, just no sound. Super boring trip by the way with no tunes!

Good thinking about spilling on the buttons, but no. Car is always clean and no eating in it. I also checked the mute buttons and they toggle on and off both on the steering wheel and on the COMAND module as seen on the display screen. Thanks for the suggestion.

Because I don't have a scan code reader, I have bitten the bullet and made an appointment to the local MB shop for a diagnosis to the no sound ailment. I will report back on what happens.
