As S-Prihadi says you can do this, and it's the only way I've done it, but there's little space and little service loop on the wires. Removing things like the exhaust tips doesn't help much. I took a long screwdriver and got the two clasps free was then able to work the unit free (it had dried mud on it) and could then work the connector off. Sort of job where you work by feel and remove an amount of skin from your knuckles. If your hands resemble a bunch of bananas you'll have a tough time.

Question how do you ...

I tried to remove my radar sensors today ... I can easily reach them from underneath, but I couldn't figure out how to remove the electrical connector. The video says "push both sides in" (I think). I didn't have any luck trying to get the connector off. I thought I'd drop the sensor from the holder to access the connector better, but I couldn't figure that out either. (I did reference the AR54.71-P-0100EW document.)

Any ideas how to get the electrical connector off, and then drop the sensor from the holder?

TIA

I shall teach you a trick on how to find ways to open up unknown connector, usually it will work.
First go to EPC to get your radar P/N, the correct one.
Then you go to ebay and take a look, often their image is of very high resolution and the connector locking mechanism sometime is visible.
Example here image #6 : https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/U9QAA...9d/s-l1600.jpg
May not be your exact P/N, but you will get what I mean.

2nd method is, at the same EPC, the connector P/N for radar may sometime be shown, you then search for that P/N too for its high resolution image.

Your issue is most likely a crusted up connector.
So basically its like being "glued" by crusty.
If the video I linked at post #26 is the very same radar module on your car , watch it slowly as the connector design is so clear there.

By looks of it , the locking mechanism of the connector is indeed the push in type to raise the locking lever.

It seems the A , I marked in red is where you must press, and only A region.

Have a try.....

Excellent, thanks.

I did take a look online for a similar radar detector, but none of the images I found clearly showed the connector. I wish the video was a little clearer too.

As an aside, I really dislike all of the different connectors on these cars.

Yes yes, so many connectors and some have unique trick to un-do them.
I was youtube assisted when I tried to remove my friend's W204 ABS big multiple pins connector...
The way to open it up is like the ECM but not very similar...so crude hahahahah

Just a follow up. I purchased a used Radar Sensor and it works fine.

Thanks to @konigstiger and @S-Prihadi for their help here!

In this image, my original is on the bottom. You'll notice what numbers are the same to ensure it is plug-and-play.
