2012 E-350 RWD

Looking at a low mileage 2012 E350. I know its a rear wheel drive,
Did the E350 have a sport and luxury model like later years.

Anything in particular I need to know about it,

thnks

Yes, both sport and luxury, sport is an inch lower and rides stiffer, less body roll in turns, but just not the luxury ride, I have both so it is really noticeable to me, the luxury is easier to get in and out of and has less trouble with parking bumpers or high incline aprons.
I have to be really careful to remember which car I am parking! If your a fan of handling over comfort, the sport is for you, if your looking for a classic Mercedes ride, it's the luxury. If you're young the ride height might not bother you, if older, it's nicer to get in and out of the luxury.

if you have the VIN of this car, we can look up the 'data card' which lists ALL factory options, including Comfort vs Sport suspension....

on the pre-facelift cars its not obvious, on the facelift 212 (MY 2014-2016), its very obvious, the Luxury have the classic grill, while the Sport have the AMG grill.

Well, I don't know about that, Sport has a three bar grille with black background, luxury has four bar with silver , luxury has chrome strips, sport has aero front.

Options galore...

As far as W212 facelift, both trim lines share the same engines with different suspensions...:
- Comfort trims have hidden tail pipes
- Sport trims feature a tailpipe inserts

Beside looks, the real options are ENGINE power! You can have V8, V6, L4, Turbo in single/double, Gas/Diesels, AWD or RWD.

Seats come in massage, leather or vinyl.

I'd say find a good V8 4-matic with leather or a V6 RWD, you can't go wrong with these!
👍

The V6 M276 engine on the later E350's is 300 HP which not too long ago was in the range of 5 liter v8's. As I'm not racing, I don't really see any need for more power than this, its considerably more than the 225 HP of our 1994 E320 wagon.

At least in the years I was looking at, the wagon was only available as a E350, or the E63S 600HP+ monster car.

first thanks for all the inputs on my question about Luxury vs sport. I still really want a Luxury model with the softer suspension and only RWD. I think I now know how to distinguish them (Grille, exposed exhaust) Even looking up the Vins it is not always clear to me.

BUT, I found this 2014 E400 for sale. I was not aware of this model. SHOULD I STAY WAY FROM IT.

here's the full data card on that ...

looks like thats the M276 3.5LV6 with a 27 HP electric pancake motor/generator sandwiched betweent he engine and transmission that provides a little extra kick on demand. This electric motor also replaces the starter and alternator.
