W212 Aftermarket Steering Wheel Installed!

Just got this installed today. Did it myself after ordering it on the marketplace. Took me a while but relatively straight forward. Alcantara at 9 and 3, CF all the way around

This is your sign to make the decision! Pairs very nicely with my carbon fiber mirrors and interior trim

Thanks! I had fun installing it, but it was a little bit of a process. Had to pull the airbag today to fix the downshift paddle, as one of the connecting pins was only making contact in from 12 to 6 o'clock, so I couldn't downshift in a straight line. Fixed it today by wedging the connector down.

For anyone looking to attempt the swap themselves, you will probably need a second set of hands to remove the steering wheel center bolt. Since the steering wheel turns (even with power steering off), it counteracts the rotational force of the bolt (~80ftlb with loctite) and makes it a pain in the rear to remove.

Could you post where you purchased the wheel and if there's any specific issues with options on the car that have to be accounted for such as lane assist and attention assist. I plan on upgrading the steering wheel in my 2010 E63 but would like all the functions to work. Thanks.

I purchased my steering wheel from the marketplace here. I'm not sure where it originated from, but was originally $2200 (I paid $800). I do not have lane assist, or attention assist, nor a heated steering wheel. I do not believe those are supported options for the particular one I purchased, but for others they are.

Do they make a heated steering wheel for our application?
