Spacers Front and Rear Different Sizes on 4Matic

I am thinking about putting some spacers on my 14’ E350 4Matic. I’m running a stock 18” amg wheels (offset 48)

I did some measurements and it came out about 15mm in the front and 20mm rear would be a paper thin flush to the fender line to the rims.

But then here is my concern, running two different size spacers like front 15mm rear 20mm on 4matic(awd), is it ok to run two different spacer sizes on awd? or would it effect the performance or causes worse handling ? maybe damage the fender? i don’t know

so I am considering either just 15mm all around or 15mm F, 20mm R for the most aggressive look

what do you guys think ? anyone has any experience with this ?

Just make sure you don't go too wide and crunch your fender.
Im lowered with H&R Lowering Springs with 15mm spacers in the back (12mm in the front) on the
8.5Jx18 ET48
9Jx18 ET54
staggered and I can't fit my finger between my fender and tire

spacers wont affect the awd. its running too much of a difference between the overall diameter of the wheel front to rear

Wow that look so good
is your car 4matic or RWD?
I wasnt sure if you could run a staggered setup on 4matics

My car is RWD. I believe you can run staggered setups on AWD setups, heres a W212 thread on it. https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ed-wheels.html
You can calculate my offset with spacer size (especially in the rear) to mimic the fitment on smaller wheels in the rear.

Also keep in mind that the stock stance for the prefacelift may vary in comparison to the facelifted version.
Edit: Looks like the width is the same, but I don't want to make any promises. If you want measurements on my car to confirm I can do it later.

You will have no issues using different thickness spacers but i would recommend go with 10mm/15mm. There is video on youtune , that i cant find atm, where a guy shows what 20mm looks like on the back and it doesn't look tasteful. Of course this is your car and you do what you pleased ))
And the most important part is to get the quality lug bolts.

what 4matic cares about is tire outer diameter, that should remain the same as the original wheels/tires.

I see, I thought that two different stance front and rear might cause confusion in traction control or something, glad to hear !! but i re-measured my gab and noticed that front and rear has about a same gap? even though it looks like rear is more in but i see that fender matches up front and rear

changing the front "stance" WILL effect how the car steers, probably for the worse, probably making the steering 'heavier' if the front wheels are out more, and messing with understeer.

also, when those front wheels are farther 'out', at a full stop turn they will move more front or rear, increasing the likeliehood of scraping the fenders.

I tried to look for that video you are mentioning but i failed hahah i saw many different videos and even the W212 E63s but i think they have different offset and gap than we do in E350.

I get that 20 might be too much so I went on and measured my car again and it came out flush all around 15mm except the driver side front wheel comes out to 10mm, I was also thinking of 10mm in the front and 15mm in the rear instead of 15/20 but i personally think 10/15 won’t be too noticeable so I’m thinking of going 15 all around just to be safe, what do you think? or did you get to find the video?

This is the kind of answers i needed ! Thank you so much for your input I really appreciate it.

So I wanted to widen out the stance by front 15 and rear 20mm, but now I think I’m keeping at 15 all around since i re-measured and got about average of 15mm with the least clearance to the fender.

I am worried about the rubbing in the front since i measured full turn and the gap in between is pretty tight, i want to keep the front minimum 15mm but im not sure if thats a bad idea if I should go 10/15, 15/15, or 15/20
