Hey guys my hatch is having issues opening. It's making like a sputtering sound and then just drops. It does eventually open though so I'm thinking it may be the motor going out? Has anyone had this issue and fixed it DIY?

Yes...Intermittently occurs to my S212.

I replaced the 2 support struts with Stabilus replacements, solved the issue!

I replaced the two struts with OEM. Still happens once in a blue moon.

yes, it's a great idea to have you rear trunk hatch be effortlessly balanced. The actuator motor is not built to handle heavy weights for long.
