parts descriptions on Amazon are all over the place accuracy wise.

You can order genuine Mercedes parts from any dealer. some dealers run websites with wholesale priced parts.
I will get A 212 910 73 46 8P26. What about the seat heat? Is this incorporated into the cover, do I need to buy that part too? The seat works fine, can it stay or needs to be replaced with the cover? Thanks.

No you just slide the seat heaters out of the pockets for them, you will need to disconnect the wires from the power block mounted to the floor of the car under the seat, watch a video first as you have the fixture for the rear footwell light to disconnect first.

Two bolts to remove front storage box, four bolts to remove seat retention brackets, then slide lower cushion forward carefully a few inches, then disconnect the heater wires.

Here are the two felt pockets the seat heating elements slide into, handle them carefully

My seat is cracking too. 2013 kombi with beige MB-Tex. I'm a bit perturbed because I specifically searched for MB-Tex; this is a station wagon, a very nice one to be sure, but a workhorse vehicle first and a luxury vehicle second. I wanted the stuff that, in the past at least, could be wiped off with a damp cloth and lasted 30+ years.

Come to think of it, I'm a lot perturbed.

I have always wondered if it's a Sport-Luxury thing, my luxury sits an inch higher and is easier to get in and out of, I feel like I fall into the sport and it takes more maneuvering to get out. Maybe that's an old guy thing but my '12 still has the original seat cover and no sign of cracks yet after nine years, I'm not in that seat as long but the entry-egress numbers are pretty close.

the old MB Tex was known in Europe as 'Taxi-leather" and is a THICK Naugahyde style vinyl, similar to the seats you'd see in a cafe/diner, that would hold up for 300K miles or more. The new stuff is called Artico, and is a synthetic leather, much thinner, breathes better, and probably softer.

I had a massive struggle with disconnecting the wires from the block. Eventually got it but the connector was ridiculous.

Yes, the connector is not easy, I found it was easiest to get the sides of the cover in first, then the back, then you can hold the back with your chest with the bottom facing away from you, pressing down with your chest to fasten the front, then loosen the sides one at a time to get it all smooth in the channel especially around the front two corner radii

Thank you for the assistance. Yes, I only need the bottom section, not seat back, for the passenger seat.

I thought Amazon would be where I purchase. They had it for $200. I hesitated and just a few days later it's on Amazon for $400.

Sun/heat issue?
This is funny given how many folks here complain about the leather seat in-out wear.
The MB-TEX on my 09 BluTec was pristine until sold in 2021!
We loved that car.

No issues at all on mine. My car sits outside all year long.

I found the best OEM price at MercedesBenzStarParts.com, for aftermarket, there is a place in Texas, Houston I believe, that people have been happy with. I can't remember the name but they advertise on eBay.

Perhaps you are referring to this store https://www.ebay.com/str/usautoseatcover

On the cracking, my 212 driver's seat started to crack at the stitching (minor now but it will grow) and sister's W166 also cracked at the stitching (grew faster and it has been replaced already). Both cars sleep in the garages, and we average @10K/year which is not a lot of wear. So, the latest seats are sewed too tight at the crossings. . Sister's W211 is Designo Leather+Alcantara interior and it looks pristine after 14 years (under the Florida sun the last 6 months though)

Yes, thank you Juan! I ordered one, I couldn't get it on even with help, but it was made with good quality, the stitching was off a little also, but it was close, I would have kept it if I could have got it on, others who bought from them did not have difficulty, in fact some were pretty loose, but with some steaming and use they were fine.

Inferior Vinyl whatever MB calls it

I’ve had that driver bottom cushion seam splitting problem in my 2011 EWagon, & saw it in 3 Wagons I test drove when I was shopping.

It only happens on the Vinyl, & probably happens because the driver knee air bag lowers the seat angle. Therefore, one squirms out of the vehicle, putting increased wear on the horizontal seam = bad design!

The optional Leather has vertical Seams which
seem more durable. I’ve never observed the seam splitting on a leather E interior. Of course,
leather is an option for more than $1200 new.

i went to a good local car upholstery shop; owner ordered an OEM cushion, & to prevent a repeat splitting, I ordered custom made Sheepskin covers from Ultimate Sheepskin.

The cost: just under $1000 to correct a flawed MB design!
FYI: my ‘94 E320 Wagon & ‘01 Wagon had leather seats which were perfect when I sold them, & my ‘91 300CE had perfect leather seats!
AVOID MB TEX, ARTICO OR WHATEVER ELSE THEY.CALL THE INFERIOR SYNTHETIC LEATHER!

I don’t know the color name (beige-ish) but I can supply them with the VIN. Is there a way to find a part number, searching by part number might help. Thanks.

I havnt looked to closely at the seam but IMO having worked in leather previously is that it was a poor execution and material choice not seat design. That seam takes a decent brunt of use. They chose to use what looks like a single stitching run (clean seam) which helps with not having any bulge at the seam but is generally the weakest way to join two pieces of upholstery. They also chose to sew perforated synthetic which with the number of holes and as close together as they are will cause a perforated tear point. If they wanted to stick with the clean seam the perforations should not have gone into the area of stitching.

EDIT: So took a closer look at my ripped seat and the seam is just a decorative stitch. Its all one piece but they chose to add that decorative stitch/partial fold and it doesnt look like there is any reinforcement on the back end. The foam is open under that part so all the pressure is exerted on the perforated line created by the decorative stitching which seams to me like a good place to get a rip doing it that way.
