Exclamation Vin number information….. PLEASE

I have a 2012 E350 Wagon. My vin number is WDDHH8JB8CA630895. I’m trying to find the color and if it’s leather. I sure would appreciate some help. Thanks so much in advance! Back story ((My wife’s pocket book leaked a huge glob of ink on the cream color seat and now I am going to try to dye it.) Wish me luck!

dye will only make things darker, not lighter. you would have to remove the ink, possibly bleaching it out, THEN dye the leather to match the original color, and the dye you use would be based on how much its bleached. its not like paint where it will cover and exact match. you can get replacement leather seat covers for the drivers seat, but they are expensive. for the passenger seat, you have to replace the whole cushion, the covers are NLA.

btw, that VIN decoder says you have grey, not beige or cream.

phew. I'd probably find some scraps of thin light colored leather, stain them with ink from the same kind of pen, then try various solvents on it to see what will float off as much of the ink as possible

my guess is, a new seat skin will be the only satisfactory method.

Can you post a photo of it to assess the extent of damage?

I would try calling them, and go from there. You can keep searching for a new piece, or even a used one if that fits you.

Updated the link for 2014 E350. There are several sellers on Ebay. Good luck
