2014 E250 noise after car is off and lock for hours

Hi,

Just got my year 2014 E250 2 weeks ago. I notice when my car is off and lock, I can hear a continuous high pitch noise near the front around the engine for around 10 seconds before it goes off. After 10-15 minutes, the noise come back again and it runs for 20-30 minutes before it goes off. This happen almost everyday and really brought me into concern that is this normal for a year 2014 E250?

These cars have a mind of their own and will make all kinds of noises while parked and locked. Yes, the cooling fans may run after shut down and this is normal. Usually, when the car sleeps all systems will generally sleep. Make sure your key(s) are far enough away from the car so they do not trigger a wake up. Don’t hang them on the wall of the garage that your car is parked in. Lots of threads on the key proximity here.

Go and check the HVAC blower. Mine sometimes when condition is right, and also not immediately after engine kill..... the blower will do slow speed run.
I think it wants to dry the wetness of the evap.

However, the sound is ultra low decibel. if yours is high, maybe your bearing of the HVAC motor is not so healthy.

I parked (and locked) the car and came back after 6 hours once to find the left headlight fan still running. Was quite odd since it's never happened before.

My car does have some weird behaviour with the headlight fans though. After parking the car and turning the engine off, the headlight fans on the right headlight shut off after 30 seconds or so, and the fan on the left headlight stays on until I lock the car, after which it still takes a solid 2-3 minutes to shut off. Not sure why the left/right behave differently or whether that's normal but that's what I've noticed since I bought the car.

If you have the AC on the blower motor will continue spinning for a while to avoid mould build up

Yes, this is odd.

I 've add my LED fans turn ON as I press ignition-ON in the morning without LED-ON... definitely cold lamps.

I wonder what exactly is helping the controllers in these lights to disfunction

My prefacelift W212 used to emit some , what I found at first weird noises as well. Honestly, I seemed to like them . . I have not paid attention to my W212 FL as of yet but I would not be surprised to hear anything like that at all
