Ok, Distance warning is enabled, yet on the visual the indicator it's disabled shows. Checked scan tool an no issues found. What else could it be.

Don't know what scanner are you using but regular scanners would only show engine module faults and would not show any faults from other modules where your issue might be.

You know Benz come in so many flavors, even Distronic has a whole family - It's not easy to know what detail can help your situation.

Sounds like a pilot error... as Boeing would say 😏

Bumber radars modules go bad more often than wheels.

Thinktool Pro, can see all modules, can do some coding and actuation tests, module information and the like.

Was referring to manual information, it's not the radar or sensors in bumper, as I understand uses sensors off camera in windshield, scan tool test will indicate my distance from it for spit second then zero. But first indicator was on interstate while on cruise control and the lane and distance with visual assistance on the car did not turn off cruise or apply brakes for car in front of me, I did, quite close too.

The Collision Prevention Assist control unit needs to be reset/restarted via Vediamo or Xentry.
It's worth the hour of labor the dealer will charge you. In Xentry: Driver Assistance Systems - Collision Prevention Assist - Adaptations - Teach in processes - Reset learned values and SCN code.

The standard Collision Prevention Assist (258) in MY14 cars does not automatically brake but will warn you if you're rapidly closing in on an obstacle and once you initiate braking, assist if necessary. The system does not utilize the lane assist camera, but rather a radar unit behind the front bumper.

This must be it. Reading through the page you shared, it's not suppose to respond to on coming traffic, it occasionally does, but not when you approach the car in front while cruise is on, or any other time for that matter. I know this as it has shown the A1e52 warning and beep as an on coming car passes on a curve and no one in front of me, has even responded to a mailbox twice, all were on the left of me, however, once I had to slam brakes because car in front decided at last minute to turn, another was car in right lane pulled infant of me was less the 10 ft away, those on my right. Wasn't sure about the braking tho. I just got the laptop for Benzninja to install, I'm assuming, the Xentry on. Just need to get the pass thru, or VCI. This should handle this, I'm thinking.
