Hello, So I found this plug unplugged It was on the passenger side right behind the bumper. Not sure what it is Please help me identify it.

 

is that the rear or front bumper? what colors are the wires on that connector? the PN is a fairly generic Mercedes 4 pin connector used various places on various cars.

 

On my way out will research tomorrow...

 

Front bumper …colors are Brown/Green-Green-Brown-Red

meh, the WIS wiring diagrams don't show the colors of the wires to the front lighting. there's also about 20 versions due to all the option code variations in these cars

do you have the vario LED headlights or the fixed LEDs or halogens or what? is this a RHD or LHD car ? does your car have the front fog lamps mounted below the headlights (in the under-bumper valance, there woudl be two fog switches to the left of the headlight switch ?

if there's no obvious place nearby for this plug to be plugged into, its probably for a feature your car doesn't have.

 

Not ruling out front bumper in addition for your VIN clutch is used @ reservoir, front prefuse box, and door locks. Check coolant expansion reservoir.

 

yeah, with the VIN we'll have a complete list of option codes on your car, so we can start to figure out what options you do NOT have that might have vestigial harness attachments.

 

Check that it is not the DRL harness. But the car should give warnings about light being out.

 

facelift 212s with the LED headlights, the DRLs are integrated into the main headlight and share a large multipin connector.

looks like you have the static LED headlights (code 632) rather than the Vario (that move up and down and left to right). and, option 258 - COLLIS.WARN. SYS. W/ ACTIVE BRAKE INTERV. FCW STOP, but not Parktronic, or the speed sensitive cruise control that uses a radar. You have the Elegance interior trim package, and don't have the AMG 'sport' trim package or the sport suspension, so this sounds like a 'luxury' model (like my wagon) rather than a 'sport' model.

anyways, that plug could be for any of a few dozen things in the front of your car that it wasn't equipped with.

That 4 pin connector is quite generic and used in dozens of places on a Mercedes.

I don't believe this car has the radars. I think option 258 Collision Warning is optical using the windshield camera.

so my car was in a crash and had the bumper ripped off so I don’t have the sensor. So can you tell me where to buy the sensor and the cable to connect to the sensor.

 

a dealer is the only place, AFAIK, that part has to be coded to mate with your vehicle.

its a radar sensor, which depending on its encoding can be used for the (ZB) front brake distance assist (emergency braking), or (SW) distronic electronic speed control...

need to know your VIN to know what version your vehicle requires and where it installs.

I believe it attaches to #465, harness A2124404151 shown in that same diagram, ...

The note for this radar sensor says, PART MUST BE CHECKED FOR CURRENT FLASHWARE AFTER INSTALLATION... afaik, only dealers can update flashware (the firmware that runs inside that module).

not sure, could be. i don't believe my car has parking sensors, but it does have the emergency braking radar. It doesn't appear you have parktronic either.
