Plastic Welding With Staples Works Great!!

Once i got the front off and removed the long Styrofoam bar that covers all the radar and parking sensors i found one mount for a parktronic was half hanging off!
I thought now is a good time to test out my Aliexpress plastic staple welding tool.
After experimenting on an old bumper we had lying round the shop I worked out that if you get the staple red hot, release the trigger, let it cool 2-3secs and press it into the plastic you want to join, keep still for about 15-20secs then pull the gun back leaving the staple welded into the 2 pieces of plastic, I repeated this around the mounts feet to secure them to the back of the bumper and it actually worked very well!!
I pushed in the new sensor and put the car back together and now I can drive in peace and quite again!!
Cheers!

I don't wait after the staples get red hot, though, and I count to 60 for each one to be sure they stay tight in the plastic before trying to remove the gun.

What is that air line running the length of the bumper into a sensor ?
What is the function ?
