Wipers and turn signals stop working while driving
A few weeks ago I was driving my 2010 E550 4matic in the rain at night. Part way through the drive the wipers and turn signals stop working while driving. I parked the car, turned it off and opened the door. I decided to restart the car and try the wipers and turn signals, they were both working again. A few days later the same thing happened, I pulled over and turned off the car, then restarted it, but the wipers and turn signals didn't work. I had to turn off the car and open the door, then restart the car, then the wipers and turn signals began working. Seems like I need to turn off the car, open the door to shut off everything, then restart it and all is well for a while. The wipers and turn signals both run on fuse #13. Is it possible the relay powering fuse #13 is going bad? If so, do you know which relay powers fuse #13?

Have you scanned the vehicle for error codes? MB specific scanner will be best.
Noticed any water intrusion in the vehicle? Humid carpet near thr edges, either passenger/drivers sides? Or near the front fuse box under hood?
Just following procedures, but it seems related to the steering column switch unit. Poor contact. A module is getting confused/hung/crashed, that is reset when the car is turned off, and locked.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have not notice any water inside, I will check the fuse box for the same. I don't have a MB scanner, do you have a scanner (brand) that you would recommend that won't break the bank?

I have iCarsoft MB/Euro specific, but would not recommends because of price @$200; however, some in the forum recommends Autel AP200 @$70 and though I have only used it for Honda I was very impressed.
Search for AP200 in MBWorld for recommendations. @cetialpha5 likes it a lot.
Note: I have an Xentry passthru setup, but it is not a turn key solution to start with.

Oh one other thing, try opening the hood and slamming it. There's a hood sensor and I remember once when it wasn't fully closed, the wipers didn't work. I think the turn signals did but who knows, might not remember it correctly or didn't try. MB ties a lot of subsystems together for no particular reason. It's crazy that when the outside temperature sensor goes, you get no a/c. You'd think they let you run it in manual mode or that there's inside cabin temperature sensors but nope, no outside temperature no a/c.

Affecting both wipers & turn signal ‘may’ be column module. Feeling ambitious you could check associated front SAM connector/pins & CAN connection for moisture, etc. since it first happened while raining but best to have someone pull codes using Xentry (MB diagnostics).

SCM's playing goofy 🙄
> CAN services
It's a great idea for *everyone* to rework their amazing SCM and neighbor EIS module if at all possible. New/used modules hide the exact same defects. They are built new to act as old rapidly.
> WIS Docs:
-- I am thinking how to best help troubleshoot this... we need the W212 Network Diagram showing what module, peer nodes are on what network....
-- From that we can spot the many gateways and sanitize strings into reliable functions.
-- Without CAN visibility xFer chaos continues. We got a bit more discoveries left to do on CAN-C, E...
-- Solid info is always valuable to get these hightech cars running a whole lot better!
