W212 2014 Front Differential Rebuild

Need to rebuild front differential on 2014 E350 4matic. While I am able to find rebuild kits for older models, not able to find anything for 2014.
Trying not to buy new from MB or used from eBay. Would rather rebuild mine.

How to find kit that I would need to buy?

What informed you that your front differential needs to be rebuilt? Reason I ask is my was replaced with a used one at ~125K miles.

I have only 61k miles on mine, but it has humming / grinding noise while driving, and all wheel bearings are good.
When I have inspected front differential it has oil on bottom of casing, so my guess is that didn't had too much oil and bearings got shot.

guessing the rebuild kit for any m276 de35 4matic would be the same. Lets seem my wife's 2016 E350 4matic has front diff A2213308900 (replaces A2213307300 which replaced A2213301602)

this seems to fit all 2012+ non-turbocharged M276 3.5L 4matic's. ..

the part from Mercedes is available as a reconditioned part, PN A221330890080.... oh, dealers want like $3600, ouch. There's no parts breakdown as to whats inside. I bet shimming these internally is an art form that very few know, its not like its a Dana 44 or whatever.

Yes, couldn’t find anywhere listed, and don’t feel like spending $3600, so was hoping someone knows what bearings are inside.

Probably one of those things where ya get a junkyard replacement to stay on road and take yours apart and do some investigations.

I think the diffs leaking is pretty common. It's possible yours has bad bearings, but it may not. When I had mine out at 130k miles I bought a junkyard unit just in case mine didn't look good, but it ended up still being very tight and clean. All I did was replace the large o-ring that goes around the diameter of the housing and the two axle seals on either side. Ever since then it's been dry as a bone underneath.

Another thing to check is the shaft that runs from the diff through the oil pan to the driver side. It has a bearing in the oil pan at the end of the shaft. Mine was pretty gritty when I pulled it out. They all go bad eventually. Might be worth looking into as well.

Thank you! Will definitely check that also! Noise is not bad, but it is pretty much consistently low and annoying.
