Don't mean to intrude (I'm from the W206 forum), but my brother just passed 300k miles with his 2016 E250 bluetec and I think it's amazing considering how much **** is thrown to modern Mercedes about how unreliable they are.

what all maintenance did he do over the 300k miles and what was the estimated cost of ownership? Thanks

lot of highway commute, I would say 90%. oil change every 5,000 miles, transmission fluids every 40,000 and whatever Mercedes suggests in between. He replaced the engine mounts, an alternator and maybe a water pump or two. He replaced the rotors only once and he’s about to replace them again.
cost of ownership I have to ask him honestly.
Awesome! I hope the e350 (w212) gas engine fares as well!
Highway miles are the best for longevity, as is good oil and sensible change intervals. Fwiw, our 2014 has just over 100k miles, is today at the dealer getting a trans/diff oil service. I do all other work myself (whatever doesn't require a lift), and our 350 has since been rock-solid reliable. Heck, even the factory AGM batt was good until just two weeks ago when I finally replaced it. Other than the mild annoyance of pulsing brakes on a steep downgrade, the car has been utterly flawless. Crap on Honda (swear off those jerks), and have always sworn by Toyota over decades, this model MB has thus far proven itself a stellar car. This and air-cooled 911s, the very definition of bulletproof! Fingers crossed for our MB!

Congrats to bro.
The 4-cylinder OM seems to do better than the ill fated OM642 6-cylinder.
How is his transmission? What work has he had done on it, or done himself?

As a matter of fact he had a 6-cyl turbo diesel before and seized it shortly after 100k miles.
Besides oil and filters every 5k miles, and transmission fluids every 40k, the few things done to the car I listed above, and all the services have been done by a local shop that works only on Mercedes cars.
