Heated steering wheel lights up for few seconds then shuts off after swap

I got a newer version steering wheel and can’t get the heated part to stay on.
I upgraded to the sporty version.
My oem steering wheel was heated as well.
Is there a reset procedure I need to do?

partial upgrade

Did you upgrade your steering column module in hope it may become compatible with your newer steering wheel module?

What does your scanner say, any mismatched faults related to new modules?

As I understand, you trying to add steering shifters? Is your TCU known compatible? Have you looked for toggle options?

Its sound kinda rude and that is not good for the information sharing we do here.

Cali have always try to help members here whenever he can and he knows A LOT on electrical / software stuff of W212.

============

Use your scanner bi-directional ( actuation ) function to turn ON the heater and also using the heater button, 2 test, while measuring the current to the heater.

Connector B1 pin 1 and pin 2 is where the heater get power.

Mine has no heater, me in the tropics.

Have fun..............

you actually took the time to offer guidance and was positive, so thank you for doing that.
thats why I go on here, hoping to get help from members such as yourself that is positive.
we need more guys like you that don’t use sarcasm or say things like Calilittlegirl.

If you read his comments on this thread then you’ll see he is useless and unnecessary.

i don’t know what his other posts are but he’s dissing me for making some upgrades on my “old” Benz. Only time I get that type of reaction is when someone is being negative towards me.
I’m sure you’ve run into this at least once in your life to understand my view.

anyways, thanks again for the advice on what to look for.

useless tool again. Dissing someone for changing their car up like it’s wrong. Narrow minded fool
You’re dissing probably more than half the guys on here for making their benz look more “fresh”

Lowlife mentality hahahahha

I love the taste of irony in SXN posts.
If I'm not mistaken SXN, Cali is referring to your scanner in post 6. If there's an issue, the proper tool will allow diagnostics. Sounds like you may need a better tool. At any rate, getting snarky with the guy who points that out isn't going to help and kinda makes YOU the tool.
But hey. Points for calling folks names. Feel better?

I personally wouldn’t want help from you as you can’t see it’s rude for someone to put down others that modify their vehicle. Shows you’re in that category as well which makes us not see eye to eye.
you don’t agree when someone stands up for themselves after being put down so no help from you is needed.

You pointed only one post of him suggesting a tool but ignored the other ones that wouldn’t be considered positive?
Since you like to stick your nose in then at least read everything prior, if you still think the way you do then YOU’RE the same as calilittlegirl.

the only member that even helped is @S-Prihadi
I don’t know who he is but he is a prime example of what every forum needs. Instead of replying with negativity or sarcasm he actually offered guidance.

cleanup in aisle 17...

My dear SXN, your reading miscomprehension displayed in your response to CBD's "use one that works" comment (yes, he was talking about your inferior scan tool) really touched you. It's the internet. Misinterpretation is common. Responding like a child due to something you failed to comprehend won't get you far. Namecalling also doesn't help your cause.
I'll remind you of the First Rule of Holes:
When you find you're in a hole, put down your shovel.
CBD was helpful right up to your first strike on Post 7 (and yes, Han Shot First).

Be thankful that @Plutoe hasn't arrived.
Edited to add: You're correct in that S-Prihadi is a real asset to the board. Few have delved as deeply as he has into the platform. You're lucky to get a response from him.

LOL obviously something triggered in that small brain of yours.
Then you make it sound like if plutoe arrives then you will fall on your knees and give him the gawk gawk 3000.
Can you suck up any harder?

I don’t know who plutoe is but I haven’t disrespected him.

On a serious note,
if you posted a question asking for guidance and someone chimes in with negativity and sarcasm.
You’re going to get a good vibe from that?
Not sure where you’re from but I don’t respect those that show zero respect. They get none back. That is common sense.

Truly unfortunate, coming to this forum asking for help, misinterpreting a post from likely the best electronics guy on the forum who could actually help, insulting other members who called him out as the petulant child he is, then replying to each of them with condescension and projection. If only he realized those that responded are highly educated engineers, from all over the world, english being their second or third language, nuance seems to escape him, especially because one of us has actually completed this swap on his son's car and could have helped him through this, truly sad.

What’s unfortunate is the guys who want to be disrespectful can’t handle when it’s thrown back at them like a bunch of wimpy babies.

The ones that responded positively were never disrespected but it’s obvious you can’t see this.

CBD responded positively right up until your misinterpretation of his post.
The vitriol and disrespect seen in this thread is yours. Don't pretend it isn't.
I'll leave the last word to you; good luck.
