Rain sensing wipers, only working at one speed
Haven’t had a reason to post here in a while as my w212 has been very solid but recently noticed a new issue. When auto wiper is set to low or high “auto”, the wipers wipe at the same slow speed regardless if there is rain or not. No new windshield changes, and the glass is clean. Any ideas?

1- You can scan the module for faults, live data and activation test. RESET may provide much needed temporary relief.
2- You can resolder poor connections.
3- You can have you MB specialist troubleshoot the condition to eventually replace the unit.
4- You can have @BenzNinja remotely code a new unit for your VIN
Everyone has different preferences....
I'd select the option 2: "free fix under 5mn", zero aggravation, 1 shot: fixed!

Wow, this is hugely helpful. Thank you both for your replies! I’m pretty handy with DIY projects, would it just be a matter of finding loose contact points? Anything specific to solder?
A new unit goes for around $100, is that something @BenzNinja can program and ship to me to install? Or does it need to be coded while in the vehicle?

to avoid coding, you could just get one from the junkyard, but make sure it has the same windshield type

Just to come full circle, I found the part on ebay ( last 4 ending in 4504) and swapped it in. Working perfectly. Very easy to install. Thanks for the help mbworld!

MB uses multiple types of windshield glass mixture that may not match aftermarket replacements. So the sensor firmware has a calibration procedure to match unit with car.
If it works then you're now all set.
