2014 e350 brake line corrosion

I just had a brake line corrosion failure on 2014 e350. It was rusted out and I lost 90% of braking ability. My repair shop has fixed more than 10 of these in last few years. Never had this happen on any car before. I agree this should be covered by Mercedes as it is a safety hazard. I could have been in a terrible accident. How can we get Mercedes to cover this?

+1: yes! Brake lines plus the rotten subframe too.

Did your line brake from external or intermal oxidation??

The specially formulated DOT4. holds more moisture - I think DOT 3 is actually better for everyday driving, non-racing brakes.

However you need many people with same issue to report as well. It is about the only way I have scene for car companies to pay attention and even then difficult. I have no idea of what the threshold is or if someone or multiple people have to be injured or die. At some point it becomes a recall or TSB from what I have scene.

Good luck.

Well if your in USA that is. Not sure about other countries.
