Need help with exact engine oil specifications for my car
My car is E250 CDI Facelift 2014
W212.003
My car’s service is due in which engine oil and filter will change. So, I wanna know exactly what specifications engine oil is recommended for my car. Like there’s so much confusion 228.51 or 229.31 or 229.51 or 229.52 and what’s the exact difference in all these engine oils. Can anyone tell me what engine oil will go with my car exactly with my VIN?
Thanks in advance!!

Look up your engine here: Mercedes-Benz Operating Fluids
Do you know your engine designation? You can find it using www.lastvin.com with your VIN.

You dont have a DPF or you removed it? If not present use any of the four that you would like. Most here will say the .52 is the only way to go (I dont agree with that but thats there religion). If you have a DPF then you supposedly cant use the 229.31 according to MB.

OM651 2014 e250 if in US then it does have one unless it was tuned and removed. Not likely as you have to make your own downpipe to replace it which most people dont. If you look at the engine with cover removed on the passenger side there will be a big portion of the exhaust, think thats the dpf.
