2013 E 350 fob seems to flash "new bat needed" every couple months?? Any thoughts.................

They work , but is this a concern?

Take your car to a shop (Walmart even) and ask them to test your battery. You may be surprised at what you find. Just because 'they work' doesn't mean they are as good as they should be.

If your car has keyless go option, check the following topic: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post8919044

CaliBenzDriver suggestions worked for me.

If you leave the fob in the car all the time, your fob and the car are constantly talking to each other and the fob battery will be used up in short order.

This is wrong.
These keyfob battery can last a long time.
The issue is the KeylessGo module suffer from unreliable connections that keep the keyfob awake there by draining tinny coin cell.
Upgrade CR2025 to CR2032!

New batteries doesn't necessarily mean new, they can be well past their shelf life or they are counterfeit, don't buy from amazon, I had a few bad batches purchased over the years I just go to my local store and buy them there, never had problem with batteries running out a few months anymore. I use to buy SONY ones on amazon but even FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) ones turns out to be fake.

I have my batteries tested, and buy new ones from Batteries Plus... They explain test results, and their batteries are always FRESH.

I get CR2032 and other speciality batteries in bulk from www.digikey.com ... they are always very fresh, major brands like Panasonic, Energizer.

A 2032 *just* fits in the 212 fob, and if you use one, don't try and go back to the 2026 it came with. the 2032 has almost twice the life, but is 3.2mm thick instead of 2.6mm like the 2026.

The CR2032 does NOT fit properly in the fob, made for the CR2025.

You have to force the cover closed. And if it DOES close -- mine will not -- the cover will pop loose at the most inopportune time, getting lost. Imagine buying a new fob just because you've lost the cover on the old one?

My car is a 2016 with full Keyless Go...

Hmmm. I've used CR2032 in both of my W212 keyfobs. They were a little snug, but the cover went on. I do keep our fobs in protective covers, this would keep the cover from going AWOL if it was to pop off.

question, do early 212's use the same fob as late 212's?

My 2012 without keyless entry?start will hold the 2032, but my 2013 with keyless entry will not, covers won't close, I need to use 2025's in those.

That E03R is an awesome little keychain light, USB rechargable, up to 500 lumens.
