Use barcode scanner to verify fake MB parts

Sharing some info.
I use this Apps : https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....scan&hl=en_US
Item 1 is the scanner APP. Item 2 is specific for Mobil oil verification for genuine check.
I bought a counterfeit/fake cabin filter for fun. Only US$13
It sure looks so good, like genuine .
.
.
.
This is the fake one , the seller.
If genuine, below is the local price.
US dealer, genuine.
FAKE UNIT.
Use the mentioned scanner and read/scan the regular barcode.
FAKE UNIT. We will get part number of the product, with NO SPACING, this fake one has spacing.
FAKE UNIT. When you scan the QR code, it will show like below but with P/N of the product shuffled around. Below being a fake, only that link shown, no P/N shuffled.
----------------------
Example, genuine M276 engine oil filter.
.
GENUINE. No spacing
.
GENUINE . The QR code will have P/N but shuffled. There is an order on how they are shuffled around.
You can read here : https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post8906107
------------
GENUINE.
Some shuffling on the QR code can be a complicated version., example below : My PCV system 2nd oil separator.
This is the product https://www.ebay.com/itm/155530449709
.
This is the Barcode and QR scan
The QR code one will link to MB own special dealer only website when using a proper MB terminal, I am sure. We can't access it though.
So, use the barcode/QR scanner when in doubt. Even Ebay seller if they show the high res enough product sticker on their store, you can use the Apps.
=============
I will install this fake cabin air filter and test it. It sure looks dust tight, that is 2nd most important for me.
Let see how freeflow the air flow will be for the blower fan, 1st importance.
This cabin filter is too simple a product to get wrong even by fake producer.
If engine oil filter fake one, is VERY risky.

yep, this is the first option near top of camera settings.
My wife's iPhone also does the same trick with live QR-codes.
