Hello, I just purchased my first Mercedes, used, 4 days ago. I've noticed that only the 4 door speakers are working. I checked the front/ rear balance, that only moves sound from the doors. I've turned PRO Logic 7 off and on, and I don't notice much. I did look in the trunk, and I can see one speaker on the right, but I can't get to it. My build code is p01 and 810. I'm also not hearing a front center speaker, I'm only hearing the 4 door speakers. Any ideas how to get the other speakers turned on?

Congratulations on your excellent choice. The sound system in this chassis is computerized.

You will best use a LAUNCH CREADER SCANNER to read the fault from this system.

It seems there's an issue with missing F/Rcenter channels. The scan will halt a wild hunt for clues around digital sounds fiber.

 

Or, the amp blew up and smoked the HK speakers....like mine in TWO cars

 

they don't have "non-smoking policies" in these cars...

It's a subwoofer amp and speaker in your photos
Usually the subwoofer is cooked
You can disconnect the speakers from the amp and run a DC continuity check on the voice coils
The voice coil windings are probably cooked and the speaker cone is frozen in the magnet
Amplifier is probably ok

Check the speaker in the dash the same way, for DC continuity of the voice coil

Someone has probably been hammering the crap out of the sound system with the doof doof
