Where does the intermediate shaft spline end go?

Where does the intermediate shaft spline end go?
Original post did not include this ...

The end closest to the bearing inserts into the left CV inner shaft. But where does the other splined end go? The front diff gear box?

Yep, it goes into the front diff "fill port"

AFAIK, the front diff oil is NOT shared with the engine oil. They did that on the W124 4matic but never since.
