Change solenoids in 722.9

Hi. Have a e250cgi that is a bit harsh when shifting from 2-3.
recently changed transmissionfluid but still same.
So i am reading about these solenoids. Ordered a kit with 8 pieces.
Does changing these require any coding? Can i change all or is it recommended not to?

thanks for all input 😊

According to my WIS for the 722.9, it does require adaptation. I have the same squawk but only happens on a hill and downshifting. I think Konigster sent me this WIS a few years ago.

Thank you for this 😊
What adaptation to run? Do you have any idea?

Save your time & money.
You can SKIP the conductor plate solenoids !

Adaptations will give you temporary relief until TCU relearns exactly same timings.

This standard tranny issue has nothing to do with 722.9 TCU. Fixing stock poor shifts is experimental.

Don't muscle your clutches into sludge that will plug solenoids screens. Then you need a rebuild job not cheap solenoid set.

EASY SOLUTIONS

that means that while the clutch are poorly timed, they will shade friction junk that plug solenoid screens.

At that point clean solenoids will be "busy work" when clutches are slipping with very little material left to bite blue steels.

So I recommend to GO EASY when you recognize poor tranny shifts else it gets expensive.
🤞
In plain english... the easiest experimental step would be ALT-LIN. Should recognize improvements in less than 200Mi.

I concur. Get @BenzNinja to do the adaptation (or at least a proper reset).

You should also be careful just switching out solenoids. I remember reading somewhere that valve block solenoids are matched from the factory. Getting the dealer to replace the valve body and solenoids should run around $2000 US, but that includes a transmission service.
